If Ronaldo is willing to come for the same wages as what Sergio was on or what was offered to Kane then it's a no brainer to pay the £25 million. If he stays for just a year, It's the same cost as getting Kane for 5 years at £125million, if he stays for 2, it's half the Kane cost. Plus there's the benefit of pushing him on to nycfc or another cfg club after city and making us money there. We can spend a day or two haggling but then we just have to suck it up and pay it. We would make most of that back within a few weeks from all the extra revenue he brings in anyway.

It's less about contract, I've read somewhere stating he's still owes money in bonuses due to fulfilling certain criteria, hence it's less about the transfer fee that is 25-30m but more about that money being owed to Ronaldo by Juve for his services. In their financial state it's understandable they don't want to let go for free
