I just don’t understand how it has actually come to this. Throughout the Pep project we have had a certain profile of player that fit into the ethos of what we were trying to do. Give your head a fucking wobble and stop being a mard arse! He left the rags over a decade ago, has scored over 300 goals since he turned 30 and is available for a maximum price of £25m. What’s not to like?
