I’m surprised that so many people are in favour of him coming, smacks of desperation or wanting to annoy rags.

Knowing that we were in desperate need of a striker didn’t we have a better back up plan in the event that Kane / Haaland wouldn’t come than a fading galactico ?

Any 5 yr old could pick Kane or Ronaldo as transfer targets - where’s the scouting, the in depth knowledge of the market, where’s the hidden gem or unpolished diamond ?

We are replacing our best striker ever, our top goal scorer. Forgive them for wanting to do it properly rather than buying a Samaras. We can’t rely on Jesus, delap and an unpolished diamond. Would be suicide

He's the best footballer in the world in my, and many others, opinion. An absolute beast of an athlete.
It's about time we signed a genuine worldwide superstar, he'll take City to another level on the pitch and commercially.

I'm not a betting man, but reports out of Italy are saying Ronaldo has cleared out his locker in a bid to force through his move.

HOWEVER, reports are creeping through that if Mbappé leaves PSG as expected, that's where Ronaldo will go. This makes more sense than him coming to City.

It will be outrageous if this happens, in a good way. He is one of best players in history easily. He lives and breaths it and to be honest I've never felt any bitterness towards him especially after watching documentaries about him. Even at 36 he will give us a new dimension and he will give the other players so much confidence. CR7 at City jeeeez its mental. Praying it happens now

I've booed him many times and never even dreamed that one day he'd play for City. But I booed him because he terrified me.

I doubt we'll see anything like that but 15-20 goals puts us into contention for a league title.

I understand that some people find it hard to get behind this but really it could be looked as a means to an end. Ronaldo doesn't have time to be sentimental and wants one more CL which is also what the club crave. If you look at it from his point of view we have the best manager, facilities and players around we are perfectly placed to win a CL but we failed at the final hurdle. From our point of view we get a fantastic goal scorer and leader with CL experience and a name that will lift the clubs profile. It doesn't have to mean you love the guy, I doubt he will have strong connection with us at the end of his career but it would be a signing that suits both parties.

Excuse me for being a bit sentimental here but I don't rate the CL as much as some on here but if signing Ronaldo helps us win it then i'd welcome him with open arms because the disappointment and hurt on here after that game was awful and I don't want to see our boys heartbroken and crying in that competition again. Sorry for getting soppy it's must be my hormones ;)

sentimentality is one thing, and its great to be passionate about a club you have been at particularly if it really set your career up, but in the cold light of day he is a footballer and it's his job, and if he chooses to go somewhere that upsets those who cheered him a long time ago, then that's just tough......he isn't going to turn down a great job move because fans a long time ago would be upset !.....he can clearly move on with it, why dont they !
