Crystal Palace (A) I PL I Post Match Thread

what none stop moaning, i merely pointed out we are struggling to control midfield and if you can't see that your'e thick, and by the way i started watching city in 1960 and got my first season ticket in 1972, went home and away until 2018 so fuck off lecturing me about the 80s and 90s
Well I'm obviously not the only one that can see you're moaning so it's not an optical illusion.

Great win, very little to moan about. Highlight of my week watching Cherki play football. Defenders and the keeper loving to defend, Foden and Haaland scoring the goals. Long may it continue. Huge game against the hammers next weekend. Pile that pressure on Arsenal before their tricky trip to the new Everton ground under floodlights.

I can't believe people are finding stuff to complain about today.
How long have you been a member on here? We like to think we have the best fans in the world; we really don't, though, do we? The majority are brilliant folk, "salt of the earth" etc etc. But there's a significant minority who aren't, unfortunately.

I actually switched to one of the foreign streams that I couldn't understand because I got fed up of listening to it. There was a particular great tackle from Gonzelez where the replay clearly showed he won the ball yet they were saying he was lucky he didn't get a yellow.
I watched on an Ozzie channel where the two commentators were banging on about "Palace dominating the game"

I just try to laugh now when I hear the absolute BS they come out with

This is one of the worst pitches in England to play on, the stadium is so narrow it hardly allows for any diagonal balls. The match was painful to watch on TV, painful shots, the sun was hitting one side of the pitch. Unwatchable for both players and fans. I'd say we've absolutely nailed one of the toughest away games

City are a bit suspect on the break at times, but generally there's a 'they shall not pass' mentality, notably from Nunes (again) and NOR. In addition today we were clinical up front. IMHO this team is looking like it could be the real deal. Time will tell, of course, but this was a big win following on from Madrid. Come on you Blues !

That front four WOW! cherki foden haaland and doku has to be the best attacking unit in Europe now, unplayable.
even if one drops out like today the back up is superb.
and we don't need signings in January either just get Kova and rodders back to add a bit of steel to midfield and we are back in the business of ruining Arsenal fans dreams

Palace themselves don't seem to like it much. 5 away wins and only 2 at home this season!

he was targeted and on his own just where was the rest of midfielders

I'd agree.
Some people can't read a game in context. They forget there are two good coaches, not just one.
He was outnumbered, many times when he received the ball there was no pass on, he isn't a player that wants to lose possession, and he did hold onto it for too long, because no-one was available.

It's a dangerous game Pep is playing, seems to be working, and I doubt the Media will be discussing Goals scored anytime soon.

It feels like that, both when you're there and when watching on TV, but apparently the pitch is the same width as the Bernebeu, just 4m shorter.

Can I just say, after that game, I want Guehi and Wharton. Thought they were both excellent (except Wharton's shooting).
warton, would like to him score a couple of goals before we cough up the 65 million they will demand for him
guehi, yes please but i think he struggles to get in the 1st eleven over gvardiol and dias

I see Pep after the game was on about how much we are going to improve. He seems very bullish. I didn’t put it in the master class rank but the effort and commitment were outstanding especially in the second half. A poster the other day questioned our mentality…I couldn’t believe that. Maybe we have some technical shortfalls but I think the spirit is great. Onwards and upwards we go.
Yes probably not a masterclass but I thought we defended well and we haven't said that much this season. I think our forward line can destroy anyone so getting the defence right is crucial. I am very optimistic about this team which is rapidly improving. Nico O'reilly and Nunez have been superb for starters. I am shocked I am saying that as I had almost given up on Nunez.
