Crystal Palace (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Gundo is 34 and is being flogged to death in a position he couldn't play against physical midfields in his mid twenties. He has won us multiple trophies and is doing his best. What the fuck would we be doing with no Gundo this season? It's not his fault the squad planning has been that terrible we are relying on a bloke we sold 2 years ago to play 3 games a week.

It is mad to think we would have gone into this season with no additional midfielders if Gundo hadn't made himself available. Rodri getting an injury of some sort was inevitable with how much he was being played every year, and our strategy was...nothing.

I made a point of raising the lack of future planning when we signed Gundogan (and no other midfielders) and just received abuse about focusing on ages etc. It was as evident then as now, that not getting younger midfielders in, that the manager will play, was a mistake.

Anyone holding their head goes off for 10mins for a concussion assessment, they do it in the nfl, if they want to bring a concussion sub on for that 10 mins so be it, but I reckon most would be up on their feet straight away, that twat last night deserved an Oscar and quite rightly the ref left him there, that albino twat needs a retrospective yellow as well for his faking it.
Siad the same in the Ref Performance thread
Refs have no option but to stop the game for a head injury therefore every stoppage for a head injury should result in a 10 min check for concussion. Hughes indicated a head injury ref stop game Hughes recovered not even any treatment or check He did it as City were building momentum This should be a red card as its the Mose despicable form of cheating

Agree, he's largely past it age wise but is being asked to do a lot more than was envisaged sadly. The squad planning, or lack of, is a big factor in our showings coupled with our injuries. Hopefully we can reinforce this position in Jan with the rest to follow in the summer.

It's absolutely vital mate. We need a DM on January the 1st or it's going to get really bad. Bernardo and Gundo are running on fumes already.

On chances alone we should have won, but equally my heart sinks every time we lose the ball cheaply, as virtually every team (including the rags next week) are far quicker on the counter attack, and it's just too easy to get behind us.

As a recently sacked Manager once asserted, all eras come to an end. However, aside from the bad luck with injuries, it's been utterly ridiculous the way we've allowed this team to drift, particularly in the Full Back areas.

I still find it hard to understand why our players look absolutely shot compared to every other team in the league. Every player looks unfit and like they've played a game beforehand.

As for Palace, they deserved it and our "defence", Dias apart, was dreadful. They weren't helped by a midfield that offered no protection and no creativity either. Teams like Palace can cut through us with ease and when you wish Will Hughes was in your team, you know you're deep in the shit.

The Derby could be a car crash and with their pace I'm dreading it.

I genuinely don't know what the answer is but carrying on playing Walker, Lewis, Gundogan and Nunes isn't going to help us win games or plan for next season. If there's no one in our academy who can't look competent - and Pep clearly thinks not - then sell the lot.

This seasons a total write off in terms of the league and I think we have a HUGE problem. We have been found out and any team in the league is a match for us which is incredible. The club feels listless at the moment with seemingly no real plans. I hope I'm wrong but I'm getting the horrible feeling the charges outcome is known and it's a horrific outcome.

I find that opening paragraph bizarre to be honest. To be at the very top of your sport for the past 4 years is unbelievable.
It will be knackering both mentally and physically.
There has to come a time when the body says enough is enough and this is that season.

The way football is going with to many games I can see players knocking their carrier on the head early. To many games, to knackered and plus boredom of the monotony of games every 3 days. The pressure to perform at the very top every 3 days it's not substantial.

This team is mentally knackered

Could have been worse after falling behind twice and then playing last 15 with 10 men, given our recent results.
Savinho is powder puff and I'm not convinced he is the sort you need in the trenches.
Poor from Walker to play them onside for their first, not the first time that has happened either.
Quelle surprise, falling behind relatively early doors again
Good spirit from us though....Dias did very well for us, please stay fit
Palace have been picking up of late so ordinarily, would not have been a bad point.
Struggling to recall our last away win...suspect it won't be in Turin this Wednesday.

I think your post slides down the gutter the more you scribbled out that shite. Think on . . . .

Kyle is a shot duck wish he moved on to Bayern last summer. Big mistake
