Agreed. We made some defensive mistakes, mostly Walker, but we played well in attack.

The injury crisis in defence makes it impossible for us to compete for the title. The fit players are being overplayed, make mistakes (Gvardiol, Bernardo) or have injury problems in their turn (Akanji). Without Rodri we are a bit soft in CM and a bit too open to counters.

I don’t even think that’s a bad result under the circumstances. It’s painfully obvious we’re not winning the league this season. We need to finish top 4 so win our home games and draw away and we’ll be fine. Didn’t agree with the team selection re Doku and Jack, but there you go. Passing ability has reached a worrying level, either sideways, backwards or give it away for 99% of passes.

One or two players too weak in the finishing department.

Players getting bullied out of possession constantly.

Having said that, the ref was trolling today surely, ONE foul given to us before Jack came on at 87 mins or thereabouts, including sending Rico off for being fouled, a suspicious stat.

Re the second yellow, did the ref take advice before wielding the card, because var would know they cant reverse it, also suspicious.

Beating the rags next week would be the high point so far this season, sad but true, just like old times.

Pep was fuming, maybe thats a good thing given his character.

I suspect that a lot of Pep's anger was towards the shite performance by the bloody ref.

Absolutely. Other clubs do it. In fact Barca make a habit of it. The game where Wright, McAatee and O'Reilly all played was one of our better performances during this poor run.

Wasn't the target an average of one major tropy per season. We are dramaticlaly overperforming on that front. Don't think there will be a major expectation of winning it every year from anyone sensible in the club. Need to work out what went wrong with transfers, who we need in, and take it from there. Not a time to be losing our heads.
