Crystal Palace (A) | Post Match Thread

i remember in the aguero year us scraping a draw against sunderland that we were deflated about but actually won us the title.today we battered them but missed chance after chance, were still playing good footy we just need our luck to change

you have less need for luck when you have a striker who’s bread and butter is finishing.

I know we do well without, but that can be the difference maker in these moments.

Foden & Grealish non existent. Bernardo unusually wasteful - it’s hard to criticise him because of what he’s done this season for us but ultimately he’s cost us tonight with two shocking misses.
Knew it was going to be tough tonight. Everyone pessimistic in the pre match thread proved right.
Sorry, have to admit I was one of them but I just had a feeling about tonight. One of those nights but only thing that annoys me is these teams don't throw 8-9 men behind the ball against the other top sides.

Not overly concerned overall, Liverpool have the tougher run in and they will drop points. It's still ours to lose.

too many touches in final third. Its like we know not to aimlessly cross it like v spurs but dont actually know what else to do instead so take more touches and go backwards.

really thought grealish would be the one to unlock tense pakced defmeces but hes not shown it so far.

prefer foden left to run at them when we know its a back of 10.

Silva needs to spend the next training session just stood in front of the goal and told to stare at it for the duration to make him aware that is where he is meant to put the ball….

Same performance could’ve been 3-0 on another day. The only disappointment for me apart from the final score was how we finished off the game. A few fresh legs wouldn’t have hurt. Anyhow we’re still top of the league.

Firstly we should have won the game had we taken our chances. Bernardo will never miss those again. Mahrez lacked his usual composure and for me was the one who should have been taken off. Phil also had a bit of a rare off night.

But come on now those thinking Liverpool have a big advantage are a bit deluded. If they end up winning 18 games on the trot (current run plus remaining fixtures) frankly they will win it and maybe deserve to but I guarantee they won't. Arsenal for example are in great form and they still have a few tough games left. I have watched them a few times on their recent winning run and they are due a loss or two.

Only real complaint from me tonight was we were very slow bringing the ball out and against a team so defensively set up you need to play faster and some of our late game passing was off a bit - we shall be fine and I still am convinced we win the title.

Utter shite, fresh legs against tired legs, Sterling speed, Jesus graft, Grealish and foden were begging to be subbed
They wouldn’t have made any difference and I would bet Pep knows that.
Maybe Gundogan would have provided something different at the right time
Could have played all night and still carried on with the same mistakes

A point is a point, and will/should wake us up.

But i've just got one gripe tonight that needs addressing......can someone please twat Ratboy?

Good performance in general, thought a couple of individuals were below par but just our finishing letting us down in the main.

Hinchliffe is a massive nobhead.
Agree he is a rotten ****, kept on going on about Liverpool, such a negative Nancy, a right rotten nonse, he really hates City

Spurs, Palace and Southampton. 3 points from 18 available. Sickening
Yep, it's a shame that we've let the gap close. However the dippers dropped points against Brentford, Brighton, West Ham, Spurs, Leicester and Chelsea this season. It's far from over yet as they still have to play Arsenal, Rags, Spurs and ourselves amongst others during the run in.
