is he wrong? We rarely beat anyone decent in CL. out of 3 matches against lyon x2 and Spurs. 2 losses and draw for example this season alone
Exactly, I don't see what the problem is. Pep also said he likes it when players express themselves. Manager and a player disagree on how a game went, so what? I'm sure the usual suspects will use it to get on his back though.

Pep Guardiola on Ilkay Gundogan's strong comments after the defeat to Spurs: "I don’t agree with him, absolutely not."

PEP @BernardoCSilva is an incredible player. Playing wide he is a fighter and he helps us defensively. He's so intelligent and clever defensively. He knows when to cut back inside and with the ball he can do anything.
What was it he said Karen?

Perhaps if Gundo put as much effort into his performances as criticising perhaps he would be a much better player for us. What are his stats again for number of losses and him starting? Pleased Pep came out and said what he did!

Think he's totally entitled to his opinions on the game. As are all the other players. Are they only allowed to talk about it when we win.
People in all walks of life disagree and I don't think Pep will bother one iota about this. FWIW I think Gundogan has been playing
well these last few games. No one was top draw the other night, but I see It's OK for the likes of yourself to criticise.

"We were not brave enough in the game, there were many simple mistakes. I have the feeling that we are nervous in important Champions League games. We have always made the wrong decisions."

Well he wasn't wrong. I don't know if it was anything to do with bravery, but their were a lot of simple mistakes.
Think he's been asked about the match and given his honest opinion on why we weren't that great.
There was a lot worse said about the team and players on this forum, after the match.

I don't think Gundo is the one who should be talking about brave as he had every chance to get out and block the shot from Son

He's not talking about bravery in the traditional sense of tackling and winning duels. He's talking about not playing our natural game and making more misplaced passes than usual after we missed the penalty. At least that's how I read it anyway.

Gundogan isn't quoted correctly here.
He said the team hasn't been brave enough in build-up going forward, and that's spot on.

Btw, that's exactly what Pep said today using other words:
playing with two holding mids doesn't make a fundamental difference for our build-up,
you just have to find and explore the spaces in front.
Bottom line that is what Gundogan was talking about.

The difference is, Pep does the official media statement and has to 'lie' (which he admitted himself back then)
and Gundogan told German Sky what he thought - and keep in mind German culture is addressing a problem straight bang out,
he wouldn't have done it to English journos in the same way, IMO.

Ilkay also said they should have defended the goal much better, and he clearly meant himself as well!

If you didn't watch the interview, trust me this time.

If it was up to me Aguero Sané, Sterling, Bernardo and Kev would be starting every game from here.
Agreed.

I am just trying to determine who will actually start of the two as I am 28 and 19 points off the top of both my cash fantasy leagues (1000 and 500 first place winnings, respectively) with 5 rounds to go and we have a two match round next. ;-)

I have a feeling Aguero is going to start every game before Burnley. Unless there's a fitness issue.

But don't blame me if your FPL goes tits up plz

His performance against Spurs (not necessarily bad, penalty miss aside, just much less energetic than previous ones) is what has me thinking about it.

And I won’t blame you. (Publicly)

Tomkins missing for them is a plus, Sakho as well. Not sure who their centre half pairing will be now. No excuses not to get the job done on Sunday.
