Crystal Palace (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Excellent fight back, five goals and the three points.
It’s not a vintage year but I’m really excited about this transition.
Nic O’Reilly, Gvardiol, Khusanov, Oscar Kate, Omar will hopefully all be in the next full fat version of City.
Add in a fair sprinkle of the likes of Rodders, Erling and a rejuvenated Phil and who knows.
Love this club.

Donald Trump strategy go two down increase the odds on a City win, place bet then start the comeback!
A Donald Trump strategy would also require multiple failures and disappointments (check), multiple legal charges (check). Let's hope we don't also match him in getting nearly the number of convictions as the fat orange twat grabbing woman abusing fraudulent ****.

Could’ve/ should’ve been 4-0 down, then could’ve / should’ve won about 9-2!! one hell of a strange game, onwards & upwards hopefully, we love you city :)

Looks like I missed the most entertaining game of the season, sounds like Kev turned back the clock. Very important result that. Well done to the team.

Amazing what a bit of young blood can do. McAtee needs more game time.
Totally agree, McAtee needs more game time, ideal replacement for Bernardo if he leaves. Seems to have same vision & movement. Game time will increase confidence. 2 misses today that you would normally expect to finish. With more game time the finished article could be special.

Well what do we know. That selection came good after an appalling start defensively. The team still has some fight left in them and we could/should have had more than five against the firm team in the PL. great to see Kevin having that influence. My favourite moment was Bobb playing with their full back. His injury hasn’t robbed him of his fast feet.

Thought the attacking players were brilliant today. Always first to the rebounds and were creating chances with ease. It was very fluid. Can't say the same about the defence. Rico did alright to be fair but Dias is very overrated.

Unfortunately kdb just doesn't have the body to get through a season at a high level any more. Can't be paying those wages for sporadic world class performances mixed with labouring or being a bit part player. Unless of course we could afford to pay it and have him being a pure impact player then fair enough

Yeah, I think for a full season then it is a no, But for games like today, he could be important to have around.

Somebody will pay crazy money for him in wages and signing fees and City will not match it at his age, KDB has earned the right to look after himself and his family and if somebody is paying crazy money good luck to KDB

I thought we were playing well (defence and keeper excepted) and creating clearcut chances from the very start. We played some lovely stuff. I never felt we were going to lose the game, even at 2-0 down.
I thought that at 3-0 down it would be too much for us so I'm glad that they were caught offside for that third by use of the new technology.
We are going to have to look at defending corners inswinging right into our goal mouth. Ortega made a great punch off the line in the
last minutes of the game with that type of corner.
I thought Nico was silly to have gotten that yellow but he will learn not to pull the opponents shirt in future. He went on to have a solid performance.
Pep may start a similar side against Everton

It’s not about how you start the game it’s how you finish it. Great character from the lads there. They dug in and should of scored 6/7. Let’s keep at it

McAtee on one hand should have done better with his chances, getting on target at least. but if Bernardo had played instead of him he just does not arrive in same positions so we do not even have those chances especially the one from Ederson assist, Bernardo would have hold the ball, turn back, wait for others as seen many times.

first 25 mins was odd and we made big mistakes in midfield and defence and could have been 3-0 down. but after that KDB raised his game and that helped others get into it and we easily created lot of chances we scored 5 but there were big chances missed by Marmoush, Gundo, McAtee plus KDB hit the post once too. if we are bit more clinical we score about 7-8 here lol.

wonder why we didnt have any of this hunger to score and create in the derby a week ago. we could have won that game if we went for it a bit.

great win overall, helped with GD a bit too, lets hope Everton can get something from Forest now.

Just back from wtlgi in Stockport. Missed the Matchday Thread so just had a gander at it. Oh my life some of the posts at 0-1 and 0-2...... boisterous stuff indeed.

At least, it appears, Kev had a resurgence

Well, after they went 2 up I was tempted to turn the tele off and go work on my bike clutch. Glad I kept the faith, De Bruyne was excellent, great second half, they weren't in it at all.

It was City of old and its always against Palace, Going for the title or fighting a top 4 place, palace scared us to death before we wake up from the nightmare,

Absolutely insane game. We missed a few chances, gifted them two goals, missed a couple more chances, then the game turned on their third "Goal" That being disallowed gave everybody a lift. We kind of battered them after that but were always worried about the counter. I particularly liked how we controlled the game once we went ahead, a bit like the City of old. A few of our veterans turned back the clock today, take a bow Kev and Gundo.
Can this now please set us off on a run until the end of the season where we nail top five and win the cup.

Wasn't confident at all before the game and my worst fears seemed to be coming true at 0-2, but I thought we had started quite well up front. I don't agree that Palace started brilliantly at all. We moved the ball around and looked comfortable. Then I was shown that we gave the ball away, left the full backs high and dry up front and let opponents outnumber s as they ran forward. One down. Then we defend a corner by standing watching. Two down. Then nearly 3 down.

What was amazing was the reaction. Rather than will and confidence draining away our lads seemed to have an infusion of energy. We remembered that one very good way of defending is not to give the ball away, especially high up. And then there's Kevin. What a player! What a player he still is! Class really is permanent! He really did roll back the years and the injuries, and we looked a better team than we have for ages. Palace were blown away - we had 5 but could/should have had nearly double that. I haven't seen the stats but I can only remember one Palace chance in the last hour.

In the end, quite like old times. Palace at home. Two down early doors. Win 5-2 (not four). But this time without a hatrick from our striking Viking.

Its a joke we still employ our set piece coach as we are awful at both ends from corners.
Think its as much an overhaul of our coaching staff thats needed as much as the squad overhaul. We are just way to easy to score against regardless of who we pick, seems nearly every shot against us goes in.
