Crystal Palace (H) Post Match Thread

For me, it’s unfathomable that Sergio and Kev weren’t played from the start. Get the game won, then take them off. Pep’s misjudgement.
Walker is a very tired man. God knows I’m not here to defend him, but he had to make that challenge that led to the penalty. It was a stretch for him, and it was the challenge of a tired man. More importantly, so was the non-challenge for the first goal. I noticed that more.
Four points behind, and we’re making it difficult for ourselves. For people to start saying it’s over, or it’s their year, or whatever, is not even a poor joke. It simply isn’t worth engaging with. Does anyone happen to remember how many points we were behind United with one month to go?!
Some people need to get a grip. The road is long and winding.
Why would you start a prem game with two of the best players in the world sat on the bench?
Just need to beat the dippers on the 3rd.

If Pep wasn’t complacent then the players were.

No point trying to polish a turd which today was.

The defence is a mess. Walker should be dropped immediately. How he stayed on the pitch after that first half is beyond me and then he gives a pen.

Why did Pep wait so long to bring KDB on? He should have been on at HT.

Palace deserved to win. Great hit for the 2nd but what was that header? Was it Gundogan who laid it on a plate for him?

The first was weak defending all across the line and Walker deciding not to bother making a challenge. Zaha shouldn’t be scoring from that position. As for the pen! WTF is Walker doing there. No threat at all. Just stand him up!

I can’t think of anyone who played well other than De Bruyne who was excellent when he came on.

3 points tossed away
Zaha didn’t score it was Schlupp

Ugly game, they ate your midfield like breakfast, and our flanks were garbage, both offensively and defensively, Sterling and Sane lacking creativity and technique, their speed won’t always help them get through. It doesn’t often happen in games against small teams, however in the UCL, we will get destroyed once again if we don’t put some genius on the flanks.

We have been pretty poor for a while now but were getting away with it until Chelsea and today. Walker has been terrible and a fair few other players form has dipped, particularly B Silva the last couple of games. We need our key players back, regroup, go back to basics and hope the form returns to ones it seems to have deserted at the moment. We can't afford to slip further from Liverpool and unless we peg them back before we play them then that almost becomes a must win game for us. Playing like we have the last few weeks though and they will.batter us and if they take a seven point lead I don't see us catching them.

Sane and Walker poor,Stones didn’t impress in midfield,we looked tired and this loss may be a long term blessing to regroup the squad and start on another attempt to go on a long unbeaten run,the league is far from over.
