Sadly was always going to happen we spunked money on Mahrez who goals/assists or not is generally poor and offers very little. It wasn't rocket science that Fern needed a back-up at the very least but we went for Mahrez when we had ample cover out wide.

Maybe this is for another thread but, having to play Stones as a DM isn't going to work.

With no Fern then Delph or even Gundogan has to play there.

Another grumble is constantly fucking about with the centre half positions.

Anyway on the game, Marriner booking the keeper so late on in the 4 mins that should have been 8/9 wasted more time than the keeper was wasting.

Absolute piss today. Fern missing gave us huge problems and stones is not a defensive midfielder in a million years, didn’t like him there at Leicester either. I’d have rather played Otto or Danilo at left back and put Delph in there.

Our intensity seems to have fallen off a cliff. We have so much of the ball but don’t seem to have that killer instinct currently. Palace today dropped deep every single time we had the ball and we had no answer.

Great to see Kev get some minutes again but I think the team selection was wrong from the start.

Southampton is going to be a very tough game.

Not slagging him off but Mahrez is very frustrating. He reminds me of Navas under Pellers. Always cuts back, every single time. He’d be ok if he were chasing onto through balls but when it's compact at the back I just don’t think he offers us anything. Hope he proves me wrong but so far it’s not working in my opinion.
 
I've seen us play much worse, as we all have. Palace had two good long range strikes and a pen.

We have to applaud Palace for playing as well as they did. I actually don't think we played that badly, it was just a bad day at the office.

Cos we make negative comments on a FORUM???.

Its natural there are going to be more negative comments when we lose. If your car is running fine you don't go into work boasting how well it's performing, but if it was breaking down and performing like a bag of spanners you'd be spewing about it. That's just life.

It’s the ones who are ultra negative and spouting shite.
 
We are not going to win the title.
The main reason is that we spent £60M on a surplus winger instead of extra CM/DM.
Hopefully the happy clappers "we won by 19 pts last year wr are gonna walk it in this year lolz, we are uncatchable! #Pep" are now satisfied.
 
Frustrating, need to be at it from the get go. Don't need to say anything on Walker, think it's all been said. Jesus needs something to get back to his best, passenger today.

I don't think they are as bad as your blue tinted spectacles hope they are. We do still have a better squad, but unfortunately, the area that we are let down was perfectly visible today. We have no central mid without Fern. They have several players, while not as good, that can still do a job if they get injuries there.

I fail to see on the evidence of today and on Wednesday any concrete evidence that we have a better squad than Liverpool.
 
I think today’s game is a good assessment of our season so far.
Times brilliant & at times very poor.

Issues in order for the season & game today.

1. Biggest problem not taking our chances
2. We have had major players injured
3. Absolutely no luck all season with the bounce of the ball.
4. Need a dm and striker ASAP. Can’t live without fern & cant live with Jesus
5. Pep set us up wrong today & on occasions. We are the chasing club we don’t rest our best players. We win today with Kev & Aguero.
6. A bit of arrogance with some players.
7. Consistency with all players needs to improve. Sterling, fern, Laporte & Edison the only consistent players.

No way we should of lost to Chelsea or Palace today we should of been out of sight at half time in both games.

If we want to keep the title we need to be more ruthless! Simple
 
Stones not a DM. Not now. Not ever. Pep too slow to bring stars back after injury. Has been doing it for a long time and it is slightly arrogant. kev should have started with Augero up front.
A fit Salah would not be left to stew on the bench.

They played 5 in midfield and doubled up on our wingers. Zaha didn't get beyond the edge of the centre circle in our half until we scored. They had 4 giants in defence against our forward players. They mopped up pretty much everything. Their tactics were spot on, and we weren't quick enough getting at them. Too many side ways and backwards passes, but then their tactics forced us to play that way.
