They played 5 in midfield and doubled up on our wingers. Zaha didn't get beyond the edge of the centre circle in our half until we scored. They had 4 giants in defence against our forward players. They mopped up pretty much everything. Their tactics were spot on, and we weren't quick enough getting at them. Too many side ways and backwards passes, but then their tactics forced us to play that way.

Mmmm so playing Stones in defensive midfield which failed against Leicester reserves was
tactically astute?

What does Mahrez bring to us, really.

He is so one footed, slow, lethargic and weak.

I do not see him adding anything. He received a pass from kdb which if he had a right foot or a willingness to have a go on his right we may have scored.

Can we stop blaming individual players. We win and lose as a team. We didn't lose because of Kyle. We had 45 mins to turn the game around and couldn't do it.

Why are we so shit at taking corners & yet we celebrate winning one as if we have achieved something!

Stones was awful in midfield today , Walker even worse. We looked disjointed from the start and Pep has to shoulder the blame for that.

Not sure why Mahrez came on, offered less than Sterling. Would have preferred to see Foden as sub to support De Bruyne.

Thought Palace stuck to their tactics and got their rewards. We were in a panic every time Zaha got the ball.

At the moment we are the second best side in the league but there’s still time to turn it around. Can’t afford to be more than 4 points behind Klopps mob when we meet in the New Year.

This. They nullified the wingers by double-marking them. It looks like they sensed our central midfield was lacking strength today with all the absences.

I thought it was a mistake to bring him on. Sterling was direct and taking players on, Mahrez is not doing that. He keeps passing the ball to someone else bit we bought him to beat a man one on one.

I have seen the word “arrogant” in a number of posts today. I find it really hard to believe that any City fan thinks Pep’s approach to the game is arrogant. Despite his extraordinary ability and winning record I always find him to be remarkably humble and respectful of other teams.

You suggest some players were a bit arrogant. Who do you have in mind ?

We start every game on fire and should score a hat full of goals then we go poor as the game goes on. I put this down to them thinking it’s so easy. Maybe arrogant is the wrong word. But the work rate & attitude seems to be very up and down. Too many great players are going missing

Atmosphere was crap in ss level 2, and appeared to be rest of ground. I know we are used to being next to away fans but the only song sung was "come on city".

Okay here goes this needs saying. Atmosphere absolutely shocking and just expecting us to win. Comments on here of 4-0 and 5-0. Not suprisingly much better when our backs are up against it. City are back, City are back was sung. Tuesday proved Stonesy was not a defensive midfielder but we decide to play him again to rotate! You do NOT rotate your best players.
Anyone think the dippers will rotate Van D and Salah when the play us thought not. Whilst Pep has been fantastic this result was down to him. For those criticising Walker anyone ever questioned his role this season? Anyone questioned why he does not attack the left back. Orders! Pep changed his role this season and it has shown. I can understand rotation like for like but playing Stones in midfield is a piss take especially as it did not work on Tuesday! I gave it my all today even at 3-1 trying to get behind the lads but most had given it up in the East Stand. It might actually not end up being a bad thing as city fans with backs against the wall are very supportive. Raz been very poor last two games and Bernardo not been himself since injury. Lacking leadership at the moment throughout. Interesting disagreements on the bench between Arteta and Pep. I hope we stop rotating with players in incorrect roles and get back to playing to our strengths. Where has the passion gone and the intensity? Ah well only 4 hours until I get get home :) Onto Leicester which just became a must 3 points !

I don't think we were in a panic at all with Zaha. He was isolated for much of the game. It was just a biazarre game when a side with virtually no attacking threat manages to score 3 goals. You always get a game like this every season.

We are not going to win the title.
The main reason is that we spent £60M on a surplus winger instead of extra CM/DM.
Hopefully the happy clappers "we won by 19 pts last year wr are gonna walk it in this year lolz, we are uncatchable! #Pep" are now satisfied.

Hungover. The fucking lot of em were hungover to fuck from last night. I recognise that style of play. I did it myself in wivvy park on a Sunday morning for years. Hungover to Fuck they were, apart from Kyle who quite obviously had an all nighter and was still pissed.

We desperately need to get Stones back next to LaPorte. We also need to get some replacement for Walker who once again was our biggest weak link.I felt more comfortable with young Garcia playing mid week than hoping Walker would be reliable!
Pep was saying our need to rotate over the Xmas period. Great but you still have to play your best team and replace players when they are unfit or NEED to rest. For Dogs sake this was the first game in the Xmas run in and we are resting our better players already!
We managed perfectly well without KDB but without him and David Silva we look to be lacking so badly.
Ultimately we have to blame the defence seeing as they can`t keep a clean sheet at the moment. Otamendi and Walker are both liabilities and need to be replaced or, at the very least, should not play together in the same team as it leaves to many gaps for others to plug.
I`m sure after calming down I will be embarrassed at this rant but one thing is true..... Walker is just NOT good enough and Otamendi just about viable as back up.

How can you leave Delph out of the criticism levelled at our defence. The guy is too slow and too poor defensively to be LB in a title-challenging team. He looks vulnerable to any quick and skilful winger he comes up against.

My only comment is that we won the corner count 13-0 so why on earth don't we score more often? We need to practice corners until we are blue in the face.

You obviously see the situation differently to most then. Most of us thought they would drop points against Wolves and they swatted them to one side with ease. We have been poor now since the derby. Injuries are killing us and we can't keep a clean sheet for love nor money. They are getting huge slices of luck in games whereas we aren't.
