our turn around in form and solidty (while remaining a very good attacking threat) has been since Gundogan has been benched - I expect to see us a lot more wide open in midfield today - we have to keep the ball as our back 4 will be wide open as is always the case when Gundogan plays as the more defensive midfielder.....

It’s a good line up but with 6 days rest since the last game wouldn’t you think Pep would play essentially the same side that put on a masterclass against Villa.

Interesting game for Cancelo and Mendy. The latter has been ‘targeted’ by quick players recently but Zaha is powerful, too, so he may fancy a run at Cancelo. Walker has generally been favoured in this fixture, as his strength and speed help our recovery, so it should make for a fascinating test today. Sometimes it’s these little match ups that show how far a player has come and how far he still has to go.

Agree, but the thing that Cancelo can possibly give us that Walker just doesn't, is making the opposing attacker aware of his offencive contribution thus making giving a more defensive mindset by default.
