We hadn't conceded before today. Our defence is fine usually, we had an off day.

Our defence is far from fine. Any team who have a bit of pace up top and are prepared to press us cause lots of trouble.
Why the fuck our defenders don't engage the attacker early instead of backing off is a mystery. All stones needed to do yesterday was put in a tackle just inside our half. Win the ball or foul him, no difference either way.

I think 26 goals conceded last year suggests otherwise. Pep got it wrong with Walker against a very good winger. He caused us all sorts of trouble yesterday. Way to much space and one or two casual passes didn't help either

After yesterday I am nervous, without Ake we looked disorganised and Palace have players who could hurt us, so I hope his groin injury is just a niggle. Stones and Dias were disappointingly off it and Walker was worse, and he will have a bigger job next weekend. So I’ll give Palace a couple of goals and hope we get 4 or more.

Yes that looks mighty impressive. However an awful lot of teams are on damage limitation and don't cause us much grief.

TBF to your comment, this season will be a huge test for us.The emergence of the press and counterattacks is getting to be the norm as each season goes by. We''ll also see how good a showstopper Eddie is this season. Still, I have faith in the back 4 to play us out of trouble and lead us up field to where the firepower is.
