I think it was a major spend in the winter window, but we needed players in because of the injuries to key players
The future is a gamble and Nico Gonzalez is young and will learn, but we give up on this season long before the new signing

Yeah for sure, if Ake, Akanji, Stones and Rodri were fit in Jan, we wouldn't have signed Reis, Khusanov and Gonzalez.

They were a combination of cover and future gambles. If we win the FA Cup and get back in the CL, the club may view it as a successful gamble. Doesn't mean they're guaranteed the be in the 1st team going forward.

Crystal Palace are a good team no doubts about it, but there 12th in the league for good reason, we've been building them up to be prime Barcelona for the last 3 weeks. Pep should not be worrying about them when he picks a team he should be picking a team to try and blow them away.
