Crystal Palace PL (H) Post match thread

Do I think Jack Grealish could play for most European teams - yes. Yes i do. Is this a trick question? Would I like Mbappe or Vini Jnr on the left instead - of course I fucking would - would i take Kvarateskelieieiea from Napoli - probably - but then after that - who? Grealish is great - right attitude, right application, right player, right team. My opinion, but you might be right - but not today. Today was mental and defensive errors.
It wasn't a trick question. To be the best, you have to be the best.

You know, it's not the losses I'm critical of. Villa are playing well, and they were well worth their three points. Furthermore, they'll bother more than one this season. Wolves was just one of those weirdo losses that we get every season. There's always one, and I'll give the lads leeway on that. Arsenal was a scuzzy defeat from a jammy deflected goal, which we absolutely did not deserve.
No, it's these draws from leading positions, and very late on. That's something quite new, and you actually have to go back to Pellegrini's last season to see that phenomenon happening this regularly.
It is doing my head in.
Obviously the season's not over, unless something very funny is happening with the calendar. But today has dented my confidence that we will be champions come May more than any other match. The weird thing is that it actually seems to do us good to go behind (as with Luton, as with Leipzig). Even the other night, against Red Star, we're absolutely cruising for nearly all the game, and suddenly it becomes Keystone Cops time.
Suppose I'll see it differently tomorrow. Better sign off from here, for my sanity.
Another PL is a step too far. Too many tired legs. I think Pep knows this. I think we will win the CL again and perhaps the FA Cup. That would be fantastic.

There is no doubt it is a penalty. Foden has tried to lash the ball away and Mateta has beaten him to it.
This is football for you. Incredible. Team gets a goal back and hang in there. City get complacent and when the game is in the balance, Palace get a chance to get the most unlikely point of the season.
Wow. You never saw this coming but it is incredible. Fair play to the resilience of the Palace players for hanging in there.
Pep Guardiola is bereft. If you don't put teams away, no matter the level, you can sense it sometimes.

Happened the last 3 seasons.. we won the title in every single one of them….

Do you honestly think that the current squad is as good as the last 3 seasons?

We're fucking miles and miles off that level.

If we win the PL thus season, it will be Pep's greatest ever achievement.

Did Silva play a single forward pass today? Everything was sideways or back! Had an easy pass up the line at the end but turned back and lost possession, costing the penalty!
Pep is so obsessed with possession we've turned into a risk free, boring team to watch, no one prepared to shoot or try a thru ball.

Other teams are winning points from losing positions, we are just the opposite.
We could quite feasibly win our next 6 and still be 10 points behind and dont forget, we have to go to Spurs and Liverpool where we normally shit the bed

You are ignoring the fact that no one could see this 6 weeks ago. It’s just form and confidence. It will change. We haven’t just lost it in 6 weeks.
