Crystal Palace PL (H) Post match thread

Okay. Let's look at this objectively because I really want to put this Jack thing to bed. Do you think any of our European competitors are wanting to hunt him down?
Who tf are you?

I'm assuming a rags fan as I've no idea why a City fan would be digging out one of today's goal scorers (who's actually scored three goals in his last three PL games) for this result. Because that's just ridiculous. If your girlfriend wants to shag Grealish, feel sorry for her that it'll never happen and she's stuck with you, but give a swerve to the stupid football takes.

That's what the rags used to say about the GPC.

Based on performances, I'd say that 23/24 Pep is a serious downgrade on 22/23 Pep.
It is at the moment and anybody who knows me will tell you I'm not a happy clapper by any stretch of the imagination but Pep doesn't deserve the amount of shit that is being directed at him. He has given us too much to be the target of ungrateful City fans.

Roy Hodgson has been managing for longer than I’ve been on this planet. Even at 2-0 up, Palace could still collectively see they had a chance.

Doku, DeBruyne and Haaland were all absent today. 3-0 up and we’d have been fine.

I know its been disappointing the last month or so but City fans moaning like fuck at Pep need to give their heads a fucking wobble. Won everything, given us some of the best times we've ever had. We don't deserve him after some of the shite directed at him. Talk about entitled.
If you don't understand the concept of a post-match thread then it might be your head that needs a wobble.
It's not about the treble last season, the domestic treble in 2019 or 100 points in 2018. - We threw away two points today, and the match was played today.

Pep fuming. Mainly, I think, with Foden.

Felt bad for Phil, one of the few players trying to go forward, take the ball and turn, lovely assist for the first, heavily involved in the second, quick first time passing.

Think he’s struggling in the side because of how turgid it is at the minute, he needs front footed players around him, KDB, Erling, Doku etc…

We move up the pitch so slowly, almost in banks of four / five. We need more players making runs to break the opposition lines. I’d really like to see us being braver with the ball, I know he’s not set the world alight, but Nunes is a player who does that, I think we need to risk the odd turnover and get back to basics in defence to cover it.

Just got back home from the match so not had time to read previous comments.

When we keep possession it is often lacking a cutting edge. It gets knocked side to side then backwards and the build up is too slow resulting in not enough shots on target. Ruben is really missing playing alongside John Stones. It's like his confidence and concentration is not 100% without him.

Far too many times this season the opposition score from their very limited number of shots on target. We are conceding too many late goals due to complacency or stupid mistakes.

Bernardo had a brain fart and back heels a ball that doesn't need keeping in play and gives away possession in added time! Oh look we're under pressure as a result and give away the penalty. We seem to be unable to see a game out and defend a lead. Emotionally we are not at the races. Don't seem to have that killer iron will this season.

Ok, we certainly are not a patch on last season , that's not hard to see on performances and results. Getting rid of very good players hasn't helped either plus injuries to key players. Can't even blame rodris absence today. However, let's never get like them over the road, we are this and that, getting above your station. Plenty of us believe me have seen really bad days, the up and coming haven't. And today isn't a really bad day!

It is frustrating in the extreme. City have won only one of our last 6 league matches and this from a team which was expected to stroll to a fourth title on the run. We can still win it but it will certainly be no stroll. We are favourites for the champions league!! But in our last 6 PL games we have come back to beat Luton but have conceded goals in stoppage time in 3 and a late goal in another which have cost us 8 points. It is hard to excuse such slackness against top four rivals but when the latest beneficiary from our generosity is a team which has taken the grand total of 5 points from its last 8 games it beggars belief. Especially when that team was 2-0 down with 18 minutes to play (stoppage time included). City no longer seem to manage games so much as hope for the best. It is not too late for us to put a title winning run together but time is running out, and I think we need to change our attitude immediately. In support of my claim that attitude may be the problem I claim that on Wednesday it was the young lads who impressed and the more senior players who had questions to answer.

Both their goals were down to indvidual mistakes.
Mistakes happen when tired. Criminal he made no changes, was clear for all to see what was coming. Wasnt even remotely a surprise they equalised. That says it all…

Anyway. Don’t rise to the bait in here.

The players deserve our upmost respect for the past achievements. Not winning is not going to change that for me.

Collectively we are not good enough this time out. Certainly in the league anyway.

Passive, complacently and look knackered.

No shame in hitting the wall.

Onwards we go.
Regarding " look knackered" in full agreement.

Though we were poor the last 10min, but referrees are making sure that we wont win the league this season, they are like accident waiting and blowing whistle for small mistakes. On the other hand doing anything they can to help liverpool win matches (For example: Ayew red card against liverpool).
