Crystal Palace Thread 2013/14

Crystal Palace boss Tony Pulis: "We are really disappointed to have not got anything from the game. The difference between the teams is spending about £350m. The weekly wages of one of their players would probably cover half my team and if I was their manager, I would be sat on the sidelines with a cigar in my mouth."

some arrogant bitter palace fans here. Having a go at us for glory hunting ???? even a poster on there points out we got 30,000 when we were shit. They averaged 15,000 and then get up to the prem and get 25.000. they make out they are amazing fans when in reality all they have is a few hundred who sing the same songs that all sound the same

So, essentially, the difference between the teams is that we've got a vastly superior squad? Wow, that must be the first time that's ever happened in football. Always amazes me that no-one manages to point out that United can field a squad which also costs £350m to build......

I think if I had to watch a Pulis team week in week out I think I'd resort to singing for 90 minutes, beats slitting your wrists.

Pulis. allardyce, phil brown, steve bruce , and 1 or 2 others, they are the fergie lickers who phone him for advise so you will never see them criticise united.

Also the idea of pulis managing city is nearly as laughable as sam allardicci being a foreign name away from managing real Madrid.

Genuinely surprised by the some of the comments here. I don't begrudge City their money and I like the fact that they have shaken up the traditionally bigger clubs, but you have about 11 players individually worth more than our entire starting line up. In football on average you tend to get what you pay for. It would be suicidal and stupid to come to the Etihad and try to attack. Look what happened when Arsenal, Tottenham and United tried it. Yes you can say at the end of the day we came away with nothing, but surely if any club should understand the importance of goal difference in recent years it would be City. With the bottom half looking so tight goal difference may be a factor. What could be even more important is we kept moral high for a big game on Wednesday. Our squad is not very deep and we had a couple of key injuries and were playing again after 48 hours what do people expect? With that being said apart from Liverpool we came closer to taking points than any other team and Hart made an unbelievable save whilst Ward had a bad miss.

Maybe one of the reasons we sing is because twice in the last 15 years we have gone into administration and were close to not existing at all. That puts things in perspective. Also shows that being too ambitious can come back to haunt a club.

Yes we were defensive, but we were not dirty. We did not target any of your skillful players, did not dive and worked hard. What more can you ask from the players. Even if you are going to be more expansive, away against City is not the game to try it.

A year staying up and the financial stability that will bring is far more important than being the great entertainers like Blackpool and going down.

I thought Palace were outstanding today and I believe they have a good Manager in Pulis. A great set of fans as well and I wish them luck for the rest of the season.
