Re: CSKA Moscow v City (Wednesday 23 October)

Right got my visa etc all sorted.
What sort of reception are we expecting over there?
Just a been reading and when Liverpool played Zenit they had a load of hassle.
Yeah it's a different City but are the mentalities the same? Do they just see English fans as fair game?

I may well be repeating myself but......Anyone in the know want to suggest a few waterholes to meet up at? big place they say!!

A few blues may well take up the Thomas Cook option of a bus to the game from Bolotnaya Square. It's only £10 per head and you don't even need to be travelling with TC to take it up. Any pubs in that area would seem logical, although I can understand a certain sense of our fans' paranoia when it comes to groups of us gathering in bars.

What do you mean? City fans gather in bars where ever they are?

I'm expecting the knuckle-dragging Neanderthals to be out in force looking for us. Having seen what happened to Spurs in Rome and Lyon last season, and England fans in Kiev last month, all I'm saying is more discretion is needed for this one.

Tottenham's trouble revolved around them calling themselves "yid army"

Maybe so, but some people need little excuse to turn up all guns blazing. The English were attacked in a coffee shop in Ukraine merely for being English. I just hope our travelling fans can steer clear of the pond life.

Re: CSKA Moscow v City (Wednesday 23 October)

This is one trip where we won't be gathering in a bar singing songs or draping flags in any public square (England fans were shot at for trying to hang flags in Red Square).

Think Napoli away, but with worse police.

Meyba not near to Khimki, but why not to gather all in one bar before the game in the City centre? Before national teams' games away fans stand near the stadium, taking photos with russian fans, drinking and communicating. Petersburg and Zenit are different from Moscow. I hope the same stiry in Moscow is going to be according to clubs' match

Having been to Moscow with England 6 years ago almost to the today, I can say without a shadow of a doubt it is the roughest place that I have ever watched football and that includes Turkey. England had 7000 fans there and they reckoned that one in three were assaulted during their stay. I personally was confronted by three lads who put gum sheilds in to have a go, luckily a group of England fans came down the ramp from the hotel and chased them off, but it was none stop throughout the visit you were looking over your shoulder. I can also remember vividly after the game flares being fired into coaches on the metro to get you out onto the platform. It was pretty mad, but like anywhere you need to be sensible, no doubt some fans will get in trouble and they will come looking for groups in the Arbat and the city centre, I have no doubt. However, like anywhere just have your wits about you and don't let it spoil the trip. See you over there blues.

Anyone know how spurs fans were received on there recent trip to Anzhi Makhachkala - this was played 30 miles outside moscow, so moscow would of been the main meeting point??

For anyone getting the train from central Moscow, Leningradskiy station to Khimki.

The trains are pretty frequent and it takes about 25 minutes. If you want get to Khimki an hour or two before kick-off.

Leningradsky 17.20 - Khimki 17.43
Leningradsky 17.31 - Khimki 17.56
Leningradsky 17.41 - Khimki 18.04
Leningradsky 17.47 - Khimki 18.14
Leningradsky 18.15 - Khimki 18.41
Leningradsky 18.21 - Khimki 18.47

Obviously there are trains before and after.

After the match there are 2 trains

Khimki 22.29 - Leningradsky 22.58 - should be OK if we get locked in for less than 20 mins
Khimki 23.11 - Leningradsky 23.42 - loads of time to get this.

Thanks for this.
Do you have anyidea how much the train cost's?
