After a great night out i have finally surfaced and doing the usual, scanning the internet with a brew and bacon butty (brown sauce obviously). I thought i would have a look at the floods which have hit Cumbria, a mere 80 miles from Manchester. I am stunned at the devistation which has been caused. When we hear the word "flood" in this country we expect the odd road with a couple of inches of surface water, the odd river that is high and fast flowing, even the odd stream bursting its banks. But this is much different. What has happened in Cumbria is being labeled as a "once in a thousand year event" and my god they seem to be correct. I quite like nature and the force and destruction which she can throw as us when she wishes. Think later on i am going to have a drive up there to have a look around and to witness the devastation for myself. Here are a few links of pictures, and look at the webcam at the ferry on windermere, i have never seen anything like it, i will post some more of my own pics on here later on.
