Cup Final scheme - add Wembley

stop fucking moaning for crying out loud

if you want a ticket go and queue like the rest of us.

i wouldnt mind but the ticketline number isnt even city so blame them if you want to blame someone

Some remarkably precious people on here.

We've waited 30 fuckin years for a cup final and people are bleating about having to wait to get their call answered or, horror of horrors having to queue for hours at the ground.

Contrast that with a poster who was setting his alarm clock for 345am then cycling to eastlands from near the trafford centre to get his ticket hopefully.

Get a grip ffs

Good idea. Lets waste one of my precious days holiday off work to dedicate to the hideously complex matter of buying a ticket for a football game.

Ah, like I say, not everybody can "queue like the rest of you".... I'm lucky, I can. Just about, but very nearly would have had to rely on the phone. Does that make me any less deserving to go to the Final?

And by association of course the ticketline blame is going to be proportioned to City. This company take a % of every ticket they sell, so the fans are giving their money over to a third party and deserve a level of service.

There's no point in moaning because ticket sales in this country of any big event are a fkn disgrace, but people shouldn't be picking up £40 phone charges because the system is wank.

I understand your frustration but seriously, it has always been the case and probably always will be the case that for a cup final you will have to seriously put yourself out in order to get a ticket and that those who are prepared to put themselves out more are more likely to get a ticket. I don't see too many realistic ways of getting around this at the moment. Unless of course you'd prefer the way united did it for the semi where thety just had a ballot. Personally I think that would be awful but I suppose at least none of them had to get off there arses to get a ticket.

That's never going to happen, I queued for 6 hours, got my tickets on Saturday and ..............yep just checked, they are still safe in the drawer.
For me the club have been as fare as possible regards group bookings, junior sales etc...........
It's about loyalty and allowing those that qualify to get them at the earliest opportunity.
Queuing is the best option, damn early and then you get them in your mit without the myther of crazy phone bills, getting cut off, things crashing and tickets getting nicked or arriving through the post last minute, queue every time for me as you can't trust IT................
What you need to do is attend more games and get the loyalty points, christ, the club gave you every incentive to boost them with 100 points for the last few cup games.

Nothing to do with loyalty points. Thats all fair enough. Purely about how the tickets are sold. They cannot cope with demand (when they know exactly what that demand will be) so why not just outsource to a ticketing company that is capable of dealing with the demand, has enough lines and enough operators. Instead of choosing to piss us around unneccessarily.

How much supporter time has been wasted and lost? 3 hours on average? x 25,000 = 75,000 wasted hours. 3,125 days. That sucks.

Better still invest in the infrastructure that will allow automated ticket sales by phone and web - as long as you qualify with sufficient loyalty points. And/or just send them out to those that are pre-registered and happy to receive them on that basis.

it aint rocket science.

Rant over.

Agree with some of your points but it is outsourced already and cost the club money, the fact is they are coping with demand because in a week they have sold 25,000 tickets to people who are desperate for them and those having a bad time of it will let them know, rightly so.
Problem with your last point is they don't do away sales now, neither do many other clubs because there are probably too many issues around all the complaints being raised in this forum.
I would expect after over 100 years of football ticket sales and current IT advances that if there was a way, it would be in place.
Sure as eggs is eggs they will learn from this and maybe tweak it here and there, but as for your suggestion, which sound brilliant, it probably just ain't feasable.

please find me one football club in the world that has a ticketing phoneline system capable of taking hundreds of calls every minute.

theres a reason they pass the work onto bigger companies.

yes their service has been poor and im sure city will be looking into it.

I'm probably missing something here. I showed up at 2pm on Thursday, no queue in sight and wandered back off 2 minutes later with tickets in hand.
