the two competitions have different rule book and the rules regarding transfer and being cup tied are different in each rule book

clubs can register an additional 3 players for the last 32. one can have played in the champions league but anyone who has already played in the uefa cup can't be registered. so if city sign 5 players at least two of them couldn't be registered. for the fantasy football addicts eto'o or buffon could be registered but kaka and villa couldn't.
