Cups for cock ups!

Where have I said that we shouldn't be interested in them?

The crux of my post:

1: The atmosphere was shocking until Wigan scored.
2: So called supporters round me weren't even watching the game and were more interested in listening to the rags.

You're making a mountain out of a molehill. It's not as if it's every week.

We were 8pts behind the rags so of course we'd be interested in their result. How is it any different from being in a relegation spot and listening out for results of others around you. I'm sure many a City fan has done that over the years...and I've certainly seen plenty of fans (of all teams) listening to radios when they're relying on other results, for whatever reason.

I bet you wouldn't have even posted this topic if it was say Arsenal we were chasing and not the rags.

Once we were 3 up last night and out of sight and I'd already heard United were 1-0 down to Wigan of course I was interested in their result?
I agree that we shouldn't sing about them unless we're playing them, but while we're competing with them directly and they're dropping points and putting us back in the title race how can any City fan not be interested?

I quite like singing about the fuckers, after all I absolutely hate them. That's not to say that I prefer singing about them more than City or hate them more than I love City but there is enough time at a match to sing about us and them. Never really seen a problem with it myself although I do know it really winds some people up.

I hate them more than anything it's just that I try not to worry about them when I'm at a match.

I try not to worry about what other people worry about at a match. Each to their own and all that. Still think you are hugely wrong about last night though. You don't seem to have any concept of context.

Yet another post whith someone arrogant enough to tell everyone else how they should support their team. Best to let people do what they want (to be honest they will anyway as they don't need your permission) and you support in your own way. If people want to listen to the radio, they can do exactly that.

It is no longer in our hands, we are relying on them to drop points for our result to be of any significance so of course we are all very very interested in their results. I don't really see what your point is.

My point is that we have fans more interested in the rags than our own team.

Did you actually read what he wrote because im sure if you did you would of seen he just explained that to you
This. And the OP is absolute tosh. Of course it wasn't louder celebrating their goal. He may not have noticed either, but out win meant more with them losing.

Exactly, the atmosphere like most home games was awful until Wigan scored and my issue is when the team needs us to get behind them we are often lacking.

Probably deflated from the capitulisation of the last couple of months?

the tables have turned! it's not so long since darron gibson scored against us and the rags were singing theres only one darron gibson at old trafford. when we were on top the rags were interested in our results.

It's my opinion mate and just because you don't agree its not tosh.
Obviously I'm in a minority on here so I apologise if I've rocked the boat.

No, you stated that the loudest cheer was for Wigan's goal. That is not an opinion, that is tosh masquerading as fact. That is what the "tosh" label was referring to.

i listened to match last night on bbc manc, crowd even confused the commentary with unexpected cheering. actually switched to dw for report to be told by confused reporter that there is no update still 1-0 to wigan.

was gutted couldn't make game last night due to illness, but listening on radio was suprisingly exciting. and funnily enough that was mostly due to the suspense of whether wigan would succumb to a dodgy decision in the final minutes.

how do you know these people weren't listening to the city commentary anyway and getting live update from the other games like me. surely it would fuck your head up to watch one game and listen to the commentary of another.

every game will provide this suspense now hopefully.

The only explanation I can think of that isn't someone at the game making it up, it someone at the game getting a text off someone else who knows they're relying on their updates and are taking the piss. Signal improvements at the ground are an absolute must.
