All,

As once again happened on another thread someone likened a players conduct to a mental illness, using the most derogatory terms.

It's disgusting and needs to stop.

Phrases like "mongo" and "downy" are deplorable and speak more of the lack of mental faculties of the people using them than the person they aim to insult.

I have a down syndrome brother.born that way through no fault of his own.I am sure many hundred of our posters work, live or know people with mental disabilities.

There's a reason we don't use the term ******.it's no different.

Can the mods please stick this for a few weeks as several people are being highly offended by an ignorant and disgusting minority of our posters who obviously need educating on this.

Thank you.
100 per cent agree - as anyone with a spark of human decency would!

It's only racism that gets picked up on this board, all other forms of discrimination are blatantly prevalent and obviously accepted. It's always been like this and will never be any different.

What's wrong with calling someone Mongo? Have none of you seen Blazing Saddles? Big daft brute with low intelligence causes mayhem and nobody can stop him. But he was easily outwitted by the hero.

Context is everything.

Likening Tevez to someone with mental illness/disability is surely more offensive to Tevez than to people with mental illness/disability? And that's the point.

Except Tevez probably doesn't come on here, so that's the counterpoint.

This forum is not the place for it.

Incidentally, Mongo turned out to be a good guy in the end. Although Tevez has been outwitted, he's unlikely to turn out to be a good guy. You never know though. If nobody wants to buy him, he might suddenly realise Kia is the debbul and fuck him off.

So perhaps Mongo is the best thing we can call him.

I actually feel sorry for anyone who knows u and pray u don't have children who might learn anything from you.

There's a few posts there that prove the point.we have a small minority of really ignorant uneducated people amonsgst us.

You may unknowingly have a good point there. My dad introduced me to Blazing Saddles. So you should probably blame my dad for letting me watch a Cert 15 movie when I was 13 and warp my fragile little mind. Or perhaps blame Mel Brooks and Richard Pryor for writing the script. Or maybe blame everyone else in the world with an acute sense of humour. Or maybe blame everyone who doesn't have an acute sense of humour and gets really het up whenever someone cleverer than them uses irony and they don't understand the point being made. Or maybe blame everyone else in the world who is racist/xenophobic/bigoted/anti-semetic/stupid/whatever.

We're all just as bad as each other and there's no difference between any of us.

Unless of course you're a racist and you think my being black somehow makes me less of a human being, in which case, I can totally see your point, my people should know better than to making casual reference to a character from a film.

And no, I'm not having kids, because I don't want to bring MORE people into a world that's already massively overpopulated, and largely destined to starve to death once the oil runs out and we can no longer afford to produce enough food for everyone on the planet.

There's a certain irony in enjoying MCFC and having kids these days.

I appreciate I might have just taken this thread to a level of intellectual humour far above your capability. And, in fact, I expect only I can follow what the fuck I'm going on about now. If so, I apologise.
