Cycling Advice

It’s even easier if you can use a quick link, what group set are you using?
Well, I’m lacking technical knowledge I’m afraid. It’s a decathlon bike, with 3 rings at the front and a cassette of 9, but I’ve no idea how many teeth are on it - what I do know, having fallen over on Hardknott Pass twice, is that I could do with a bigger range of choices on the cassette, as even in the ‘easiest gear’ it wasn’t enough! Maybe I should use the hybrid or the mountain bike next time I try it…

Top tip, don’t cycle over Hardknott, even the Romans fucked it off in the end ;-)

I find myself going up many a hill clicking the shifter for another tooth at the back and it’s never there! As the chain on your bike if it’s 9 speed there’s a chance it’s a shimano, if you can find out a new chain with a quick link is a very easy job.

That look of horror when you glance down and realise you really aren’t still on the big ring. And you haven’t punctured. It’s just what a 25% gradient does. I came to a grinding halt in Winnat’s once. Stopped and simply keeled over.

I found myself on the very well named Steep Lane this week and I am still looking for the 32 on the back which I don’t have.
