Can someone explain...One of my earliest memories was when we played shrewsbury away...I was only a young lad and we were on the special...This big black lad then walked down the train and my mate said that's daft donald...Is this the same guy?

How the bloody hell would anyone be able to answer that question?

Daft Donald is Donald Farra who the op bumped into today so the answer is yes, more than likely.

I can remember donald in glasgow for an england scotland game. The police advised him not to get off the coach for his own safety.Oh how the world has changed
he mentioned that day mate,we were talking about some of the hooligan books that have been written about Citys mob over the years,he said to me 'why do they write them, what go's on at the match stays at the match!' brilliant! he's put a bit of timber on i'll tell ya,i overheard him telling one fella how he was related to William the Conquerer! he's still a blagger at heart!

He still owes me 10 B & H!

He still owes everyone 10 B&H (& a handful of 10p`s).
I think the last time I spoke to him at the match was probably Oldham away (when Horlock scored after about 2 mins). I`d been to the loo as he walked into the ground, chatted to him on the way to my seat, 1st sight of the pitch, looked up as Horlock scores, went mental, next time I see Donald he`s over the hoardings hugging Horlock, 2 seconds later the police are escorting out.
A legend.

bumped into Donald today at a car boot sale in Rochdale,he was walking about with a vinyl record of the Tchaikovsky 1812 overture that he'd just purchased,he was on top form as always, said he doesn't go anymore and just keeps a low profile but loves city just as much as ever but saying how its not the same anymore now we have all these mercenaries playing etc,we covered quite a few subjects including the war in Afghanistan the tour of Ireland back in the 90's amongst various others and rounded it off talking about the threat to kill the Russian keeper in 88,made my day, long live Donald Farra,City legend!

good story, how old is he now ?
don't know exactly mate but i'd say he's pushing 50,he spoke about grandkids also so must be 50 ish

daft donald is 53 2 years younger than me and well earns the name. He used to hang around with our crowd sometimes and cadge lifts all over the country in the 70s and 80s. He jumped in our removal van once on an overnight trip to norwich late 70s and thought he had gone to an alien world as there were very few black people if any in norwich in those days we walked into a pub and the landlord nearly fainted when this big black lad with bottle bottom glasses om asked him for a pint in a daft manc rochdale accent prieless. Dont think he went to the game either just stayed in the pub cading drinks and entertaining the yokels with his mad antics including getting the pubs dog pissed and had it doing backflips. When we left later that night donald and my mate slater carried it into the van and drove home with it i heard a couple of days later that the owner written a letter to the M.E.N asking for his dog back or for the mad mancs to look after it. Not seen donald for about 10 years now and when we won the cup at wembley i was hoping to bump into him somewhere so we could have a big hug and cry as he always said we would never win nowt in our lifetime. Start going again donald you big daft lump we all miss you a true city legend

You might of seen Donald at the match and he might of hung around with your lot on away games, but one thing for sure is is Donald never had a daft manc Rochdale accent, if there is such a thing, cause he's from Langley and anyone from there is a proper Manc, Langley was north manchester's overspill estate, in it's day it was up there with any area in Manchester and it was pretty much blue, no one fucked with Langley. Donald also had a soft spot for chelsea.
