Daily Fail and the Mancini era ....

Did the players throw the cup final to get him sacked? It's something that has crossed my mind...

I don't want to go down that route but the article infers that a few were not unhappy at the result and that has to have been at the back of some minds during the match. Trouble with this sort of shit is that it doesn't reflect well on anyone and certainly not City or the group of players. It makes us look divided by citing the an English clique on one side with the Toure's and Zab's on the other and players like Silva and Aguero caught unhappily in the middle.

Leaking this to the media just gives them a field day. That Mancini's single minded and uncompromising approach had served its purpose was as good a reason as any to look at changing things along with our wish to go holistic. So make that the reason along with not meeting targets. Letting it be known that he was shit to work for yeah OK but this sort of detail hurts everyone.

Its just dumb. Whenever you start throwing shit it invariably rebounds. Even in this article Ladyman talks about pampered stars and the criticism of Mancini is as much about his vanity (huge shock) and some poor sod called Jose. Like who cares?

I seriously do wonder if City will ever manage a sustained period of professionalism.

It's becoming increasingly clear that Mancini had to go, but the continued smear campaign (presumably with the club's consent) isn't really doing anyone any great favours.

If any player consciously gave less than 100% at Wembley then they can fuck off too.

Never thought I would see the DM print the truth but for once they have.

The inherited member of staff is universally loved within the dressing room and if Mancini had tried to get rid then there would have been uproar.

It is a real shame as his on the pitch achievements will be soured by the truth. The board had no other option but to get rid.

Sadly appears to be a smear campaign (by the club?) since he left. Uneasy with me.

Not a smear campaign mate. It's just that it has been kept under wraps until now.

The masseur who works for England too?

No wonder Madrid haven't won fuck all this year if Jose has been Mancini's woman

I am not saying this is true or untrue. But (these are genuine questions)

1. Why do people pick and choose what to believe whatever this paper prints? I hear so many people talk about how it's all lies/farcical, but now we take this article as truth? I mean, the writer can't even help but take low-blows and manager and players alike. I am not claiming "agenda" but I am claiming "controversial piece" and "shit-stirring". If it's true fu**** name and shame. I am tired of this "a player texted a mate of mine" source crap.

2. The are genuine professionals that make more money and play a game that they absolutely love. Stop asking if they threw the game to get their coach fired. Stop being so ridiculous. Now were they frustrated with their manager? Possibly. Could that correlate to terrible performances on the field. Maybe. But they didn't go out there and actively try to lose the game. Did Tevez try to hit McCarthy's toenail so it would go over the bar? No he didn't. These statements are so unfair to the players and make me so mad I can hardly see straight.

yes. seeing their performances this season, and the sudden improvement in performance against Reading has caused me to lose a lot of respect for them as a group, bar a couple of exceptions obviously

While I'm not 100% convinced that they didn't deliberately set out to lose games, the performance against Reading can hardly be used as proof that they did.

There is a reason the Royals have been relegated. It's because they're one of the poorest sides in the Premier League and if we can't play well against a side of that (lack of) quality, then we really do need to revamp the squad.

If the "leak" was to justify his sacking it's made me more mad towards the players who clearly didn't put a shift in last saturday or in many away games

Yes why didn't one of the mard arses tweet this before we all bought tickets and booked hotels,it could have saved us a fortune WE can ill afford, unlike them!

I wouldn't wipe my arse with anything published by the Fail (or written by Ladyboy). Of all the papers and journalists to have stuck the knife in over the course of the last 5 years, these bastards have been by far the worst. They make Red Issue look like King of the Kippax. The spite is always entirely manufactured to get the little red brainstrains clicking away, but it's no less real for all of that.
As to the content of this article, some of it is probably true, but I'd wager a pound to a piece of shit that for the most part it's made up, exaggerated tosh and blind guesswork. The wish is the father of the thought when it comes to Ladyman and City

I agree. The usual mixture of speculation, invention, gossip, exaggeration and some elements of truth (Mancini was a hard as nails boss that rubbed a lot of people up the wrong way because of his driven nature).

I notice that the Fail is already sharpening the knives prior to the arrival of Pellers.

I'm sure we'll all thank Mancini for bringing silverware to the club but we've heard more than enough recently about his attitude towards players, staff and board members that justifies the decision to sack him. I was almost relieved when he went as I certainly didn't have any hope that he would be improving us next season had he of stayed.

I'm really hoping that Pelegrini's arrival will revitalise the squad and the addition of a few quality signings will see us win the title next season. I'm more excited about the future now than I was around a month ago thats for sure.

The stuff being said about Bobby is very reminiscent of the stuff that was alwasys said about Brian Clough. And Clough was regarded as one of the best managers in history.
