Irelands wonder horse runs today Minsk, never even jumped a hurdle..

If it wins with a double handful the 5/1 for the triumph hurdle beforehand could look very very good...
I got touch under 7s. Its a risky bet but the stories are he's taking to hurdles like a treat. I'll be in work during the race so can some post what happens on here?
Let's just say it's no more a wonder horse.

Pretty woeful.

Found an infection after the race, will miss Cheltenham.

Knew something like this would come out. Most likely nothing wrong with the horse. They clearly fancied it to be something special but he didnt produce the goods. Also weird that the horse went off at such a big price seeing as he was a big fav for the triumph. I know he was still odds on but he didnt run against anything decent yet was only just odds on.
Havent had a bet on the triumph yet as i wont bet on novice events until the day of the race. My fancies for the race are Baby Mix, Balder Success and Dodging Bullets.

One less horse to worry about for the triumph as i thought Minsk would come on for the run.

I'd prefer to have 16's on Hisaabaat, still available at Lads, than 5's on Baby Mix.

Hisaabaat looks a decent animal but i dont think the form of his races are strong enough. Baby Mix hacked up at Cheltenham and didnt fire the next time for some reason but when beat Sadlers Risk(around 6/1 for triumph) easily yesterday. Form wise Baby Mix is way ahead but anything could happen.

I saw Baby Mix's race yesterday and while it was impressive and ground down the other horses, has it got the turn of foot that Hisaabaat has? Generally speed horses do well in the triumph, and im yet to see a 4 year old with the same turn of foot, or hoof to be politically correct.

Just watch his run at Cheltenham when he destroyed the field. Dont agree that speed horses have the advantage as you normally get a strong pace in the novice events so would want a horse that will stay up the hill.

Cant wait for Cheltenham - one of the best sporting events one can go to... awesome even if you dont really like horses and betting - my mate doesnt but he loves Guinness so is a pig in shit!!

My ante post bets are thus

The good

Champion Hurdle: Hurricane fly £50 @ 4.1 (placed the day he won it last year)
Jewson: Sir Des Champs £10 @ 8's
Nepture: Simonsig £14 @ 9.2
Supreme: Steps to Freedom £17.50 @ 10.5
RSA: Grand Crus £15 @ 9.2 and some at 4.3 as well (hope he doesnt go for the GC)
GC: Burton Port £10 @13.5 and £10 to place at 3.85
Arkle: Sprinter Sacre £15 @ 9.2/8.4/7.6
Coral: Smad Palace £5 @ 25

The not so good!

Weapons Amnesty in the GC - out for the season
Dildar - beaten well by rivals at the weekend
I backed a Mullins horse for the bumper that he was speaking well of on ATR - it ran and was awful, cant remember its name off the top of my head - morning something i think...

I had Seabass today battled back well to win the race with Ruby on board for Ted. Might have a look to see if he sends him over for 1 of the chases not many great chasers out there now compared to years gone by. A game horse will have a great chance to win a race at Cheltenham this year and IF he can get Ruby on it as well its all a big plus.
