Daily Horse Racing \ Tipping thread

The ground is raceable at Punchestown. And were I am in Dublin the wind has died down a good bit compared to earlier in the day. So I think they may well still race today. 1.30 will be a update on racing but I would be shocked if they dont race today. They might loose a days racing this week but they will try and make sure today goes ahead it hasnt rained heavy today more so the wind but tomorrow and the rest of the week we are in for more rain so they could even call off the final day if need be and stack up 1 of the other days with big races.

Three small e/w singles, doubles and a treble for me today.
Taurus Twins 2.15 14/1 3rd @ 14's
Ingelby Spirit 3.55 12/1
John Forbes 4.15 8/1

The Irish festivals are never as good as the English ones. Not a dig at Ireland but the best horses come over here for Cheltenham and Aintree over jumps and Newmarket and Epsom for the classics.
You will very rarely see a 2000 Guineas winner go to Ireland or a Derby winner go for the Irish equavilent.
I know Punchestown has managed to attrac the likes of Quevega, Sizing Europe and Voler La Vedette but its lacking Big Bucks, Sprinter Sacre, Finnians Rainbow, Long Run, Kauto Star, Rock On Ruby and more. I understand that they are all unlikely to run at 3 consecutive festivals but if the pull was there then they would.
Like I said it isnt a dig at Ireland, I think it gets bigged up too much and doesnt live up to the hype, and this includes Guineas and Derby day.

Mark, any word on how Jamesway is? Think he has a great shout in the first at Epsom.

The only titbit I had this morning was that he had a chance but it was an open race. They are still trying to discover how best to race him tactically.

All chase races are off at Punchestown. Will be all hurdles and bumper card.

Absoloute shambles of a meeting. This should have been decided a lot earlier and people have now paid for an awful card. Sure they will get free entry on Sunday for the rescheduled Gold Cup but people might not be able to make it.

Card is now:
4.55 Martinstown hurdle
5.30 Louis Fitzgerald Hurdle
6.05 War Of Attrition Hurdle
6.40 Champion Bumper
7.15 Bumper

Disgraceful.

was going to back Voler La Vedette but ground is a concern and tbh bit of a shambles of a day.

in fact im lying. the ground isn't a concern won a few races on soft but does anyone know what the official going is? is the wind drying it out? soft may be ok for a small punt but heavy, no thanks.

haha I'm having one today, the race is tomorrow!

Soft to Heavy. The wind will dry it out but its already cut up from yesterday so i doubt it will get any better.
