Daily Horse Racing \ Tipping thread

Sad indeed about St Nic was a decent horse over the years when they got him right for races it always gave it all it had. They are hoping to be able to get him fit enough to do stud duties. This hot weather is shocking at the moment. I have seen in hurdle and jump races a couple of horses having been put down because of a fall on the hard surface. Just think this ground is too hard for the jumpers and IF it was my horse I wouldnt let them go jumping as the ground aint safe enough.

So sad about St Nic Abbey.

One of my favourite horses.
Me too
Although he won some big races & £5 million in prize money
Always thought he could of done better
9 wins out of 21

It raced against some decent horses and won some big races over the years. Unlike O Brien to keep them in training as he has only done it with Yeats were it raced up till 6 or more. Raced St Nic everywhere aswell.

thought i would have a little pop at these..........

My bets for today, all each ways apart from Trading Leather which I'm yet to back. After 2 bad weeks on the nags (offset by a £75 win at the dogs last week) let's hope a couple of these get home.

Ascot
2:40 Yaroom (Corals) (£3)
3:15 Ducal / Head of Steam (skybet / ladbrokes) (£3 / £3)
3:50 TRADING LEATHER (not bet yet)

Newmarket
2:45 ONE PEKAN (skybet) (£5)
5:05 ROYAL PRIZE (skybet (£4)

York
2:20 LES TROYENS (skybet) (£3)
3:30 MISSISSIPPI (ladbrokes) (£3)
4:40 DR IRV (ladbrokes) (£4)

Did anyone see the retrained racehorse parade before the first at Ascot yesterday.

Purple Moon won an Ebor and then went globe trotting for the big money races, and very very nearly won them all..

Galway Festival starts tonight as well. A full week long. Dermot Weld is always worth a look always bangs in a number of winners. With the rain forecast it will be interesting to see what the track is like by Thursday.

Richard Hughes fantastic today.

You're not wrong mate.
I'm not his biggest fan, but that ride he gave Toronado was possibly the best I've seen all season.
To be able to find cover in a 7 horse race where the pacemakers went off far too quick and were ignored by the field was incredible.
Dawn Approach hit the front half a furlong too soon, but Hughes judged his challenge to perfection.
And his ride in the next race wasn't bad either.
Top class horsemanship.

Well if Windhoek comes in and then Tickled Pink does the business in his last leg he most certainly will be.

Good luck Blue.
