What does the F and - mean?
F means fell.
Other letters are;
U for unseated rider
C for carried out
R for refused
I think AP has nearly the full set from his grand national rides alone.
The - separates years.
You might also see a / symbol which indicates the break between seasons.
That's only scratching the surface though; to be reading form you should be looking at whether prior runs were over fences or hurdles (national hunt), or turf and polytrack (flat racing). Then you've got the trip, going and even the direction of the course to consider.
