Isn't that the competition played exclusively between teams from the U.S., and yet the winners are called world champions? Thought so.alib said:Best Team in the NFL , 19-0 , Tony Romo and Terrell Owens , blah , blah ,blah

It's because one team are called the cowboys and one the redskins (indians)jimharri said:Rivetting. BTW, define 'derby' for us, will you?

To me, a derby match is a game between 2 teams, either from the same city/town or from two cities/towns who are located very close together. Now I know The States isn't small, but a derby match between 2 teams over 1,300 miles apart? Be serious will you?
1. I was born and bred in Moss Side (Claremont Rd), about 5 mins walk from Maine Road, to Irish parents. Season ticket holder for 8 years from the mid seventies to the early eighties. Are you suggesting that I stop supporting them? If so, why? The insinuation in your remark (correct me if I'm wrong) is that shouldn't be supporting City, perhaps because it isn't my local team. If you 're not, I apologise. The question then would be; what is the relevance of your remark to the point in hand (derby matches). I didn't question why fans of Dallas and/or Washington support their teams, did I? I only questioned why you call a match between two sides over 1,300 miles apart a 'derby'. Try googling "local derby".Banned Tosspot said:It's because one team are called the cowboys and one the redskins (indians)jimharri said:Rivetting. BTW, define 'derby' for us, will you?
