Dame Diana Rigg - RIP

Mrs KS just told me a story I had not heard before. She had a friend whose aunt was wealthy and lived in an up market village near Harrogate.
The two girls aged 13 were invited to spend the day with the aunt. A young (early 20s) neighbour was recruited to help with the girls. As Mrs KS tells it, the neighbour was delightful and enthusiastically entertained the girls, giving them a great day.
You've guessed it... the young neighbour was Diana Rigg.

It woudn't surprise me , ....Diana Rigg never forgot her Yorkshire roots , even during her early days in India ...... she was around 27-29 years of age during her two year stint in the Avengers, and she starred as Emma Peel from 1965-1967 , so if that was her in your story then i should imagine it was just a few years prior to her actually featuring in the Avengers .......but you could well imagine that , with her character, she would have had the personality, the likeability , and the enthusiasm , to entertain the two young girls that you mention without too much difficulty.

A wonderful lady, with a brilliant aura that suited the quirky Avengers series perfectly, and very quick witted and funny with it..

I procured a recent upscaled (4K/UHD) version of On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Looking forward to that tonight
