He played for Barca for years, doubt he'd tell Gabby J to go Madrid.

But everyone has seen Dani Alves. One of the most well known footballers on the planet - hardly comparable to Mangala / Dabo

You have no idea as to the character of players. Who really cares what players have to say to the media. They're signed to play football. All else is pretty irrelevant

Maybe, but as above it's the quality of his football that counts.

One thing a lot of fans seem to be overlooking is his influence in the dressing room. This guy is a serial winner, and you need characters like that in the squad never mind on the pitch. Viera was a huge part of our early modern day success, and not for what he did on the pitch but for the influence he provided in the dressing room.
For all our experience in the squad, I can only think of yaya who has won the champions league, so Alves will double that quota. And then we look at him on the pitch and it makes the deal absolutely outstanding. He may be 34 but when I've watched him he's shown no signs of slowing down, and he basically won Juve the semi final on his own. He took responsibility in a big game and won them the tie, that is another thing we need more of in the team.

We could carry out the medical over there and I would have thought negotiations will be with his agent. Regardless, he may be coming to England in a couple of days or so.
