Buying Bony, Mangala, Fernando, Nolito, Bravo, Otamendi, Navas.
Even players like Stones and Sterling have much to prove.
Selling Dzeko, Tevez and Negredo.
Allowing all 4 full backs to get over 30 years old and then releasing three of them at once without sorting out replacements.
Appointing then retaining an average manager for 3 years.
Need I go on?
Buying Otamendi and Navas weren't cock ups at all.
Selling Dzeko and Negredo neither. Selling Negredo was extremely good business.

Neither Otamendi nor Navas improved the team.
Selling Dzeko, Negredo and Tevez and replacing them with Bony is a balls up in anyone's book.

Looks like he's doubled his money, has no affinity towards city and his Mrs wants Paris .he must be happy as f**k.
Always knew he was a sh**house tho you could see it .

It sounds strange, but Pep is going to have to deal with this sort of issue now he is at City.

At Barcelona - and even Bayern - you don't have to concern yourself too much about players turning you down because of location, at City and even United, in the modern game this is becoming an increasingly frustrating issue for the clubs as Manchester lifestyle is hard to sell for those not raised in it.

Maybe this is as much a sign about how much he really has left for the challenge of the PL as it is about the money... I was thinking we'd get a season max out of him anyway and he'd be nowhere near as fresh as Juventus were able to keep him for the CL games he impressed in because of the Serie A.

Otamendi did improve the team. He was our best defender last season
Navas wasn't expensive and was from time to time useful.
Buying Bony was a huge fuckup but selling those players were completely understandable.

I think you have to take into consideration playing time as well.

At City Walker is going to first choice, at PSG they will have likely offered him a role to play every week.

If we do not sign Alves then its time to move on from Walker if Spurs are still playing hard ball.

We all know what type of negotiator Levy is and as the season draws closer we leave ourselves more likely to be screwed over or if we walk away less time to find a replacement.

Its pretty obvious with Pep, who states continuously about the importance of preseason and working with players, would have expected transfers to have been completed by now and were obviously hitting the buffers with a number of targets. Not Citys fault but lets have a back up option and not pay over the top as a consequence.

in his age, he doesn't give a shit about new clubs or winning things as he won them all with Barcelona. He is all about the money and lifestyle and to be honest, it's pretty hard to compare Manchester and Paris + if there is truth about that difference in wage. Yea, keeping your word is good thing but making 10-15 million more in 2 years and living in Paris instead of Manchester.. it's hardly a hard choice.

Real pain in the arse missing out on this one his experience and winning mentality would've been priceless in our dressing room. There's no like for like alternative out there really especially on a free as it were. Does him going there cast doubt on Meunier or Aurier? I'd take either plus there's Cedric Soares at Soton who I think is a great player. Walker is an absolute must and we need to get it done asap and it's the same with Mendy on the other side we need to stop fucking about and get ruthless.

Muenier and Aurier won't be too pleased with that. Scenes if we return the favor and go after one of them.

Makes me laugh thinking back, I got accused of being a flapper on here the other night when the first PSG rumours came out, all I said was that it didn't seem like the usual twitter bollocks - everyone saying Castles was a cûnt etc, which of course he is, and was no doubt being a chancer with his claims - whereas in reality it was City that we're busy making a pigs ear of it, whilst Alves was being a snake.

Hope we get PSG next season, want Leroy (or Sanchez) to rip the twat a new one.

Admired him for his obvious football skills but by jove, he could be an utter tosser on the pitch with his diving around and play acting. As such, it was getting harder for me to reconcile having such a loathsome little turd like him at City....and now, problem solved.

Must admit, I was so optimistic this summer after Bernardo Silva and Ederson had been signed, but missing out on Alves will prove catastrophic and it is a huge huge blow for us. Tottenham will charge us an arm and a leg for Walker and I can't see us signing another right back as rotation with Walker now we have missed out on Alves. The man was a freebie, that is what makes me so pissed off how we missed out on him. We should have just stumped up the cash and paid the big wages, we really need to start acting like a big club. Now we are going to start acting desperate in the market for full backs when there wasn't any need to be as long as we got the targets we should have. Dani Alves done and dusted, concentrated on Mendy then tried to bring the price down for Walker knowing that we already had someone in place, but no... City never do anything the easy way. Them rag bastards up the road wouldn't have behaved the same, you only have to look at the Ibra situation, done and dusted, no fucking about.

Fuming. Txixi really needs to step things up a notch now.

I doubt it mate.

Why we buy a right back off a club who has just beaten us to the signature of the player who he will be replaced by?
