Dani Olmo

big difference between olmo being able to leave and wanting to. He started there, wants to play there and live there. Sure a compromise will be reached. Maybe a 5% chance of us getting him on a 6 month loan which would be ok.
Even if its a loan until the end of the season, no brainer, go and get him.
Who would we be loaning him off? He’d be free to go wherever he wanted.

I agree its always like this with Laporta-Barca, last minute panic of registering X, Y, Z and then it goes through in the end.
and then next summer another great players will happily go there and take this risk of registration.

I get they won't hold his registration but hasn't he signed a contract which may be binding him to Barca in contractual terms. Wouldnt that require some kind of fee to circumvent?

No, he walks for free if they fail to register him before the window opens. I’m sure levers, sorcery, and all sorts of underhanded moves are happening right now to get him registered

I’ve changed my mind I’m all for this if he’s available. It’s not like our need for a 6 currently if he comes in but gets injured we still have plenty of options in the positions he plays. But if he doesn’t get injured it offers a rotation option and he can be class. That said I’d also like to see us give McAtee more game time which would happen if Olmo is signed unless someone else goes as well.

It’s utterly farcical that Barca can keep pulling these last minute “levers” out of the hat. What financial institution would enter into a deal worth circa £100m in a matter of days with limited time for due diligence or consideration.
