Re: Agger Bid

A waste of money, we should put any fee for him towards securing a player like De Rossi who can do that job yet improve our midfield options too.

Re: Agger Bid

waste of money and time
even if kolo leaves we can find and get better

agger is also injury prone

Re: Agger Bid

Disagree. Agger is one of the best centre-backs in the country. Probably the best after Kompany. Whether we have really bid for him I have no idea....so much that is written turns out to be wrong.

We do however need a central defender, not a striker so this does make some sense.

Re: Agger Bid

Agger will be a great signing

Agger is class and Liverpool would only look at what Lescott went for and say come on boys cough up. 13m not a chance they'd ask us to double it.

Lescott is English

Good thinking but there's probably only 1 or 2 players out there who would fit the bill, and I can't see City agreeing to pay a big fat fee for De Rossi after he was available for buttons in January and I'm not convinced Martinez is either robust, aggressive or quick enough for centre half. I'd take Agger quite happily, and offload Savic rather than Kolo

Re: Agger Bid

Definatly no and at £13mil don't go no where near him.

Its only a season or so ago the dippers let him go and then resigned him back on the cheap because no one wanted him. I'd sooner go abroad and take a chance on someone in the dutch or german leaugue for a lot less.

That wasn't Agger.

Re: Agger Bid

For £13m yes, but no more than that. if we pay up to £20m for Agger we are pretty stupid.
De Niro is right too, we should be focusing more on De Rossi with any money we would spend on Agger.

If it happened though, I wonder what Hansen would think of us buying one of their best players?!

Better option than Skrtel IMO. Confident footballer. Good age, but as above we dont want Liverpool to "do a Lescott" on us.

Re: Agger Bid

Would be a class signing, left sided centre half with a cracking left foot, very good in the air and very quick I'd take him in a heartbeat!

Re: Agger Bid

I'd take Agger or Skrtel, Agger's the more composed and technically better, Skrtel the more direct and uncompromising, either would slot well into our squad/team, it's one of the few things the dippers have that's good about their team.

Re: Agger Bid

Agger is better than lescott and will give us perfect defence choice , kompany + agger is a smashing idea and lescott will give us perfect cover

I think he will cost atleast £20m , most probably around £25m , as he's top 3 centre back in the league

-- Mon Jul 30, 2012 9:27 am --

i prefer de rossi as a midfield option not as a defence option

Re: Agger Bid

De Rossi would be bought as a Cdm and would hardly play Cb Mancini plays players in the best position even with injuroes Richards last season could of gone to cb but stayed Rb Agger for 16-18 would be decent

interesting quote at bottom....Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror reports that Ivory Coast star Toure could make his way to Barcelona should they miss out on Agger. WTF, linked with moves to turkey and UAE and now ....Barcelona, YCNMIU.
He's won two titles
not doubting that, just laughing at the media touting players hear there and every where. good luck to him if it comes off.
