Daniel Sturridge plz stay

Ireland has had a half decent season but lets not kid ourselves he is not even in the top 5 prem midfielders and has a looong way to go before being considered europes best.

Just like sturridge has a hell of a long way to go prove that he is in the upper echelon of premiership strikers nevermind being an automatic choice for england. The kid might know where the goal is but he takes daft shots, from stupid angles and doesnt release the ball when he should. Im sorry but for me at the moment the kid is all hype, yep 4 goals and 5 assists is good no doubting that but there has been some shockingly anonymous performances and temper tantrums thrown in with that, like i previously said when his talent and endeavour matches his attitude he will be some player but how many players are as good as they believe they are, i can think of fifty players who were touted as the next big thing who faded away badly he has shown me nothing in his appearances and attitude to suggest he will do any different.

Where Ireland and Sturridge differ is this when given the chance Ireland made himself undroppable when given the chance and he has been given chances sturridge didnt

I agree Immac, I think the kid will go elsewhere and score 20+ a season if he's starting regularly, but what does the club do, give into his ridiculous wage demands?

Who says it is about wage demands? it could be like i have heard about playing time which you can understand with Big Phil getting ahead of him and Benjani going on ahead of him on Saturday.

The truth is no one knows what the hold up is whether it's money or playing time, it's a shame that everyone now beleives The Sun and The Mirror for this particular story, which is a shame.

The fans of this club always need a scapegoat no matter how well or shit we are doing. If i was Sturridge and i was reading this i would fuck off from this club and go somewhere else where another clubs fans will appriciate his talents.

If it was upto most people, we would have an eleven full of hard working modest players like Richard Dunne, John O'Shea ect, no big headed egotistic twats like Maradona, Zidane, Ronaldo would stand a chance, the kind of players who will win you stuff with a moment of big headed out of this world madness.

If its about playing time and frustration with other players getting on ahead of him, it was the same with Elano earlier on in the season, having to watch Vassell, Fernandes and even Ethuhu getting in ahead of him, but Elano got his head down, got his chance and won his place back………..perhaps Sturridge should have tried doing the same.

And you should know by now, the new scapegoat is Bridge!!

Good ridance studge, your not bigger than our beloved club and you never will be, am i sorry to see you go, NO, you have done nothing that really excites me, the championship is beconing you BYE BYE and shut the door behind you.

And when you have gone we are not interested in how bitter you are about the blue army, so keep your mouth shut and go with the little bit of dignity you can

Sturridge is an excellent prospect and one I'd like to keep. It's up to him I think. We can't offer him too much money for the sake of other kids coming through. He's been given plenty of opportunity already to play and even with mega signings I think he'd get more games with us than he would at Chelsea. But he'll get more games still if he went to the likes of Fulham or West Ham (i.e. not much money but decent clubs). I think his best advice would be to stay on the contract we are offering and go on a season loan to a club that'll play him more. He still gets very decent money and he can play it by ear for a bit. He'll be taking a big risk to leave now - even for a lot more wages.

And I don't believe all the hype about his attitude. Of course he may be a twat but so can anyone. I'm sure there are a few egos on here. Personally I don't think he is a twat - just a kid growing up. Kids today are cocky enough to start with. Add some fame and fortune and it's bound to effect them. My impression of Sturridge is that he is still growing up and unsure as how to act in situations (like against WBA). He'll turn people off who don't know him personally but over time he'll grow into a man and become more down to earth. The big pity though is that for such a kid it's easy to be led by bad advice (anyone knows with teenage kids that it's a bloody miracle if they don't f up on a regular basis and constantly be their own worst enemy. The hope though is that they'll eventually get beyond that and most do).

Anyway hope he stays.

past caring

we will be in the market for the best strikers we can get and it will mean that Danny will side down the pecking order even more

If he wants out for footballing reason weather it's playing time or personality clash with Hughes good luck to the kid

If he is asking for silly money we've already told him not to be silly and his team hasn't come back to the table as that indicating he wants out and can get better money elsewhere. So be it

Sturridge is quality and has immense potential but unfortunately for us the guy is an absolute top class arrogant twat and is way above his station right now. I know that people within the academy were glad to see the back of him when he moved up to the first team cos he's such a fucking bell end. What's the club sposed to do, roll over and let him do what he wants?

I'd like to see him sign a contract and grow up but unfortunately it looks like that isn't going to happen

Thats my point i dont think his arrogance is going to change if/when he moves to another club you can see this same thing happening again and again with other managers and like i have previously said if ur a well established player within a team or recognised as being at the top of your profession or particularly important within it, then you have every right to voice your opinion and challenge people, if you are still progressing you would be well served to keep your head down and learn from those around you as to the best way to conduct yourself.

This is not just in football but in any walk of life danny doesnt seem to recognise that and it may ultimately be his downfall

I'm 85% of the opinion Sturridge will find his level one step below PL, this is the decision Hughes has to make in wheather to push the boat out in what we've offered him. Compare him to Owen for example at the same age, Owen was banging em in at reserve level and forced his way into the first team and then did the business when he got there. Sturridge gets his chance looks OKish but the attitude when he's not picked for the next match should be to bust a gut and show you're too good for the reserves again. Instead Sturridge usually get yet another injury and goes into a complete sulk.
On the pitch he seem to have a very low pain threshold (my dad would ay he's mard or a big girl's blouse), takes shots from the most ridiculous positions, doesn't see passes he should, physically lightweight and dissapears for long periods. If all that makes him worth 60k a week I'm a china man, a bit of tricky footwork doesn't make a usefull player!

GOOD RIDDANCE TO AN ARROGANT JUMPED UP MARD ARSE!

Wouldn't be surprised to see him playing championship football in a few years. Seen odd moments of brilliance, but nothing too amazing that's making me desperately want to keep him.

He's just a decent prospect, if he doesn't want to stay we can sure as hell buy better players.

Let him leave, we'll get some cash for him and prob some kind of sell on clause, cocky little shite.
