Danilo - 2017/18 performances

He was excellent in preseason but hadn't look great since. Hope he plays plays out of his skin massive chance for him to prove the doubters wrong.

He was very good in those 3-0s against Arsenal in quick succession.

I was hoping him having a game in his preferred position would allow him to show his quality. One great pass to Sterling apart he was dreadful. You simply cannot keep giving away cheap free kicks against a team whose main threat is crossing into the box. All goals came from uncontested crosses into the box. Delph too was shown up as a player not really aware of the duties of a top notch fullback - he gets a pass though as he was back after another spell injured. Danilo has had a few great moments but alas they are too few and it was back to the last two seasons yesterday with both fullbacks caught out - no coincidence that we looked so vulnerable at the back and shipped 6 goals in a week. Please get fit Mr Mendy and I hope the rest has helped Kyle show Wednesday's performance was just a blip.

Defensively Maffeo is very good (better than Danilo IMO), but offensively Danilo is better. Maffeo is still very young and has many years to improve his crossing and decision making in the final third

Maffeo first start with the 1st team was against United in the cup and he was MOTM.

This. I don't like to disparage players, but I just don't see what he has that warrants him playing for Madrid and us. Really, when I see him play, I'm like huh?!

I remember my friends who support madrid were laughing on how they sold him for +30million.


He is ok squad player, but I hope he will not cost as losing Maffeo.

His control is sometimes wayward and heavy, but his energy levels and willingness to attack the byline are incredible. As I said in another thread, he needs a run of games in one position, preferably with settled players around him, before being judged.

Totally agree - he clearly is the " whipping boy " for OP's as is usual amongst City supporters, sadly.
