Yet people are surprised that Jadon Sancho wants to move away. We have a perfect opportunity to give some minutes to a youngster from our academy, it's minimal risk, he would play in low profile games and learn from Walker. Yet Txixi decides to spend 30m (One of the highest fees ever) for a RB to be our backup. Maffeo is not been given a chance and you can feel the effects around the academy. But I admire Florentino Perez, bought him for 31.5m euros and about to sell him for 30m pounds. Making a profit on RM worst signing in years, while we constantly ship our failures for loans to buy for <10m which options aren't even exercised.

Putting Maffeo on a similar learning plan as Bellerin would be great for him and the future youth players wanting to get a shot with the first team. Maffeo would be getting around 20 games behind Walker and would also have Fernandinho as an emergency fill in RB behind him. Im not keen on this Danilo deal at all, its too much for a player thats been subpar since joining Madrid.
 
He can play also as a LB so I think he will be a good backup for both sides. I cant believe we going to pay 30 M for him, I think the price is much lower. If we get him, Mendy and Kolarov is staying - we not really need Bertrand

I would much rather have Bertrand if we are paying £30m. He is PL proven, hasn't had a subpar past 2 years, and wouldn't count towards the foreign player list because of being HG.
 
Do you think Madrid are just leaking this to the press so they can get Chelsea to pay up?
