Makes a degree of sense if we’re only looking at him as a stopgap figure to tide us over between Aguero and say Haaland. Ings would presumably be happy to be rotated and we could sell him on after a season or so. Don’t see it happening, just trying to see any logic in it.

At the risk of being accused of being a WUM a friend of mine who has tipped me off about a few things in the past has told me to me to lump money on this. Hope they are wrong, and resident ITKs can disprove it. Dont shoot the messenger this guy has been right before so have no reason to doubt him. Fully expecting a volley of a abuse, but thought it worth sharing.
Cheers Tiger, you might earn your stripes with that info.

Reminds me a little of Negredo, though arguably more two-footed; he scores a good mix of goals and presses from the front as well.

Nope. A poor man's Negredo. Although a decent squad player

I could just see us preferring not to sign a striker this summer, rather than a stop gap for one year. If we did sign someone, I think they wouldn't have the injury record of Ings, to replace another striker that has a recent bad run of injuries.

We will sign at least one striker, that won’t be “a stop gap”, and it certainly won’t be a striker who has never played a UCL game
