Sterling or Jesus leave along with Kun then Kane/Halland + Ings makes sense...
Replacing Sterling or Jesus with Danny Ings makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

I still think Foden is going to replace Sergio as the main forward. Ings would be a decent shout for plan B, 2nd choice and rotation.
I think Phil is being primed for the false 9, Messi role. I don't think Phil is a midfielder, he is a forward. That would be awful. We’d lose Foden’s midfield skill and creativity, playing him in an unfamiliar role, and have an average journeyman as plan B?!
I sincerely hope our ambitions are considerably higher than that! We are pretty much the best club side in the world, we need to be signing the very best players available. Has to be Haaland or at least Kane.
I was thinking this yesterday. His instinct in front of goal is amazing for a young lad and he is a brilliant finisher. I think he could be a 25 goal a season player if he played that false 9 role.I think Phil is being primed for the false 9, Messi role. I don't think Phil is a midfielder, he is a forward.

I don't think 25 a season is out of reach for him. He has 14 this season. That's with playing predominantly out left for most of the season. You would expect him to get even more game time going forward as well.Jebus. *shakes head*

A good Euros for England would set him up nicely.
Pretty obvious that he's talking about Foden, not IngsMate he’s nowhere near good enough for us.
The only strikers we should even consider are Haaland, Kane, Mbappe or Lukaku and even the latter would be a bit of a disappointing signing.

100% this...One of the best qualities Phil has is arriving into spaces from deep at just the right time, he also is probably the best one v one dribbler we have - no better sight than him slaloming past players when he has just a bit of space in front. Pep would never play him up top which is why we have seen Kev, Raheem and Bernardo do that ahead of him. That would be awful. Apparently Spurs, Chelsea and United are in for him now.
Very unlucky not to be in the England squad. He offers something a bit different to what they have, should be in there.
