the "baddie", Bane, was simply an overweight bouncer doing the doors at Rockworld! Nothing special about him, humourless and lacking any real presence.

I thought Tom Hardy did a belting job and kept true to the original depiction of the character

all about opinions of course!!!

I just thought he paled against the classic Batman villains.

Apart from being a bit of a bruiser, what was his raison detre'?

Tom Hardy is a great actor, but he was largely wasted hidden behind a distributor cap wheezing like a poor-man's Darth Vader. Like you say, it's all about opinions...

The realisation of 'why' he was that way was quite obvious when the plot behind Mirandas character unfolded - personally i thought the guessing game made it even more enjoyable, also the fight scenes with him and bale are the best of the trilogy!

Agreed, and humour is the very last thing a baddie needs to be effective.
In fairness to Hardy, he pulled off a fucking boss performance considering he only had his eyes and his hands to work with. Made Bane seem a menacing bloke that's for true.

Agreed, proper 'old school' action,it felt realistic as it was stripped back to the basics,no CGI bollox, you could almost feel the effort and emotion involved because of it - awesome stuff.

I have no criticisms,loved it.

Loved the part in the final 1v1 battle where he was punching the concrete pillar!

Just got back from the cinema. What a great film.

I loved it and would recommend anyone to go and watch it.

It's like the Dark Knight but with the jeopardy increased ten fold and has the annoying bits taken out (hated the ferry scenes in Dark Knight and the sonar vision was a bag of shite).

Ledger was phenomenal in Dark Knight but overall this is the best of the three.

Quite possibly the best trilogy of all time.

Batman Begins 8.5
The Dark Knight 9
The Dark Knight Rises 9.5

The only problem is where do they take it from here? They can't go down the same route as Nolan as he has created the definitive version and if they tried they'd be on a hiding to nothing.

They'll have to go for a whole new style and approach. Wouldn't mind them going down a more supernatural route and have Guillermo Del Toro direct it and have Killer Croc or something like that.

Thought it was great but Ledgers performance in The Dark Knight just takes that film to the next level. Overall a quality trilogy.

Pretty much puts to bed a batman re-boot for a while unless its very big twist i.e batman of the very far future or some shit.
