I'm told ex City player Danny Mills will be the other linesman for the Palace game in order to even things up.
That's interesting that once highlighted by the press he was taken off that game, he obviously doesn't see it as a problem himself for whatever fair/unfair issues it could create. The issue for me is not that he will be biased or cheat but there is a good chance he will make a mistake and this is manifestly unfair on him, never mind City. Imagine he misses an offside. If it's for City he'd be accused of trying to show he wasn't biased and if against City, well we know how that would look.
I'd be amazed if he is not taken off this game considering he was taken off the 2008 play off semi final between Palace and Bristol City. The press highlighted the story and he was removed, although the Bristol City manager (Gary Johnson) said he wasn't bothered.
Although, to be fair to the FA, I think all referee appointments are made by that seemingly unaccountable organisation, PGMOL.The FA are a joke and leave themselves open to so much criticism.
I said after the spurs game that Tottenham using Wembley next season is a conflict of interest.
There's no way they will want their national stadium hosting Europa League football (again).
I'll be interested to see how many 'home' draws they get and against who.
It also means Wembley aint neutral and NEITHER is a former Palace player running the line!
Surely the FA shouldn't want to put him in that position? I'm sure that he's professional enough to not be biased towards either team, but it really puts him in the spotlight doesn't it?
do you have the email address for themWrite to the FA.
I just have.
Weight of mail has more effect than you'd believe so get writing/emailing.
do you have the email address for them
That would probably get through the twatsTheFA@ bentasfuck.co.uk
Simon Mullock picked this up last night and now the MEN have as well.
As a club we have too much class to lodge a complaint before the game, it's the type of thing reserved for the rags and dippers.
That said I'm sure City will let the powers of be know they are aware of the appointment.
