I think he has lost his mojo a bit after a very long and successful career. Still turns it on now and again and still generally winning £200k a year. Not bad!

He’s had bouts of depression, but seems to have come out of the cycle due to having a family, so can see why the WC gets in the way of his family time and happiness.

As you say, he earns enough to be comfortable, so doesn’t need to chase anything he doesn’t want to.
