Darts 2025

Mitchell Lawrie is already breaking almost every record Littler set at youth level. He threw his first dart 18 months ago. The jammy git.

There must be something that enables kids to improve at certain things that you cant do as an adult. I've been playing darts 2/3 times a week since lockdown, I have certainly improved but still would be the worst player in our pub team by far. To achieve them stats are (elite pro level) after only playing for 18 months is remarkable! IMO no adult could do that in 18 months from scratch. Maybe the innocence of youth and being free from adult responsibilities has something to do with it?

My mate brought his son and his sons mate in our local the other night both 12 year olds, one of them threw a 180 and couldn't understand why we were all amazed, he could only just reach his darts ha!

And talking about the WDF Darts World Championship. It's starts tomorrow (Friday) at 6pm.

Is it a considerably poorer standard of Darts than the PDC version? Yes. But it's fun in it's own way, you get to see players you wouldn't normally see playing and it's free to watch on YouTube.

It would be good if the PDC could incorporate the WDF and start some kind of league system all under one organisation.

The WDF world champion gets £50k prize money, after tax and expenses they don't get much for being world champion. It just seems pointless having two governing bodies when one is so much more superior. Surley the WDF world champ could qualify for the Ally Pally. There are 125 players this year! you get £25k for getting into the second round in the PDC!

Bums on seats pays for the prize money, women have a chance of the big prize if they win it.

Not sure piggybacking the mens game is the answer, better sponsors is the way forward because sport should be a meritocracy.

WDF is World Darts Federation, not Womens.
