I've already explained that space technology is an investment. It isn't an instant return because science is hard and inventing things takes time.
On nuclear war yes everyone seems to have backed down because it's a threat to all.
Apart from all of those other wars that have happened since the nuclear age started?
Yep Bill Gates due massive respect but these countries - usually Africa - have all the rest of the world chucking aid At them and what? Have they built a great health service? Are they looking after their ppl? Are they hell they are buying weapons and feathering their own nests.
Africa isn't a country. And it turns out that you can't just build a great health service out of thin air. You need an economy to support it, an educational pipeline to staff it which means investment in schools and teachers and Universities and the like, then the proper administration of it, registration systems, IT systems, medical technology innovations, etc. Giving them a couple of billion doesn't just mean the NHS pops up overnight.
In Africa child mortality is dropping year upon year. Adult literacy is increasing year upon year. Gender equality in education is decreasing year upon year. Vaccines for malaria and polio are increasing in widespread usage and herd immunity is beginning to occur in some nations. Food production is going up year on year.
Starvation and poverty isn't simply a money issue, it's a social issue. Like any social issue change doesn't happen overnight or even over decades. We took 500 years to get our economy where we are and even the US which has huge natural resources weren't economically in Europe's league up until the early/middle of the last century. Expecting the countries in Africa to do this is a wholly unrealistic goal.
