Speaking of other Cameron gaffes, he claimed we were junior partners to the US in 1940, obviously wrong. Later he claimed he meant 1940s i.e. the war as a whole. I'm not happy with that tag either though. I feel it is very belittling towards our war effort and isn't factually sustainable.

He was totally correct.
