David Cameron

All I know is he stopped to let me cross the road as he was on his way to Downing St on the evening he became PM on 2010.

So he can't be all bad.

Because he didn't run you down?

You have low expectations of Tory leaders.

Mind you, I can understand that.

So do I.

Am I the only person on here who thinks Cameron is okay?

What makes this strange is that I am generally a socialist (with a small s), have never voted Tory and am suspicious of anyone who looks like their face is under attack from a black hole.

However, I sort of like the guy. Perhaps it's because I can't trust Clegg (liar) and have no confidence in Milliband (invisible). Then again I have a track record in backing losers.

Anyone else think the same?
WUM.

Seriously it's not a wind-up.

I'd never vote for him because I vote for political reasons and not personality, and I usually do a little better under Tory rule than Labour, but being a socialist (with a small s) I recognize it isn't just about me.

My god Labour need to ditch Milliband, though.

He may be a nice guy but he knows fuck all about real life.

How could a man who had the misfortune to have a disabled child who he acknowledged was superbly cared for the NHS agree to the decimation of the service and allow IDS's dispicable assault on disabled peoples dignity with the bedroom tax and ATOS stuff. That too me shows him to be a complete and utter ****.

Just wait until Boris gets the nod, now there's someone who's got his finger on the pulse with real life ;-)

What is it with you and Prime Ministers?

Did you ever share a bus journey with John Major?

That Labour leader Millipede seems like a right bellend
I was listening to him this morning and he was poor .
The worst Labour leader since Micheal Foot .
Carmeron got it easy with Milliband being a soggy leader

Micheal Foot was a magnificent orator.

His speech against Churchills oppression of the free press during WW2 is simply stunning.

Its also very suprsising if you revisit Foots manifesto of 1983 how many of ideas are now accepted as mainstream.

Foot suffered at the hands of a rabid wing press that told the world he wore a "donkey jacket" at the Cenotaph and such fucking lies and his ratings suffered as a result.

Foot was a man of inate honesty and integrity and one capable of quite brilliant political thought.

He was indeed.

But that doesn't always translate into great political leadership.

At that time Dennis Healey would have made a far more effective leader of the opposition.

Your right about Micheal Foot being a very intelligent man .
He held various posts in Labour goverments .
But you after remember unemployment was going through the roof in the 80s .
He was poor and made Thatcher even stronger

Healey was the Blair of his day

It was a different day.

I still believe he would have made a more effective leader of the opposition and would not have allowed Thatcher the easy ride that she had for the first 4 years of her parliament.

Dennis Healey would have been a great leader for Labour .
He should have taken over when Wilson resigned .

I'm no Lettie, but I've said it before, and don't mind saying it again, the worse thing that happened to Labour, and this country, was the death of John Smith. This country, and the world, would be a different place today if he'd been elected PM, which would have happened if he didnt pass away. The big guy in the sky fucked up that day.

No but I sat next to Carol Thatcher on the Tube.

Agreed.

John Smith was a decent man, an honest man and was Labours huge loss at the end of the last century. A proper Social Democrat with passion and a feel for what the populace wanted. Ahead of his time. I believe Clinton learnt much from him

Michael Foot, when an ordinary Member of Parliament, had regular meetings for nearly 20 years with KGB officers and took money from them - honest and integrity my arse.
