David conn and Danny Wilson on radio 5 now

There is never any mention of Platini's ingenius Financial Fair Play and how it will increase ticket prices, there is no weighting in this brilliant piece of legislation how can a club in the relatively poor north of England compete with a club in the capital and even with one that is backed to the hilt by successful German companies as Bayern Munich is ?

This This This...... The elephant in the FFPaphiles room.

And the reason Arsenal (and other fans tbh) fans really make me laugh . One hand bang on about FFP and how great it is next complain about ticket prices. Point out the facts and how Citys prices compare and all you get is the usual state of denial of the facts , media driven (with the odd exception) response

Then there is Wengers` FFP stance , fair and equitable is it ? Where is the real financial doping going on ? .

There is a reason Arsenal have a huge turner over and it isn`t just the extra 12000 seats. Even if they had 48000 their Turnover would still be huge (Spurs the same).

FFP is a dream Killer and an excuse to extract more money from fans. Lets see what happens to (the very often mythical cheap) ticket prices across Europe when(if) FFP really kicks in.

Why has the hypocrite Twatini brought the final back to Wembley. 125 anniversary my arse !! pure hard money making machine for UEFA .. FACT. Lets hope Vinny and the big boss are there to take that trophy of him in May and we can watch the tw@t choke on his posh nosh we all pay for.

Now that Gill has his hand on the FA wait for FFP here. Not only ensuring Utd keep their special rules when bacon face pops off but also ensures every club will have no option but to put up prices further. The conflict of interest stinks ... corrupt.... maybe ?

Rant Over.. I feel better now.

And yet strangely Wenger ignores the fact that Danny Fiszman's £50 million investment in Arsenal during the 1990's, allowed him to buy the players that he was so successful with

As does any Gooner you mention it to. Apparently this was 'a sound business investment' while City 'throw money around like confetti'.
Even Tony Adams has gone on record saying Arsenal would be nowhere today without Fizsman's mammoth external investment back then

I quite enjoyed David Conn's book, he's got some great ideas in theory. I wouldn't have chosen red for the front cover though.

are you getting him mixed up with Schindler? I've always found Conn very knowledgeable and whilst he can be critical he's always fair (and still a City fan at heart)
No I've read all Conn's books and Know him well. I'll agree he is knowledgable if repetitive and not always factually correct. Are you getting him mixed up as still being a City fan? As he says in his books and he said again on the radio yesterday, Manchester City WERE the club he supported growing up.
Conn fell out of love with City years ago.
Well you clearly don't know Conn then. He's still very much a blue at heart but he doesn't like what modern football has become. He will happily admit that he prefers the concept of fan ownership to the "sugar daddy" model but that our owners are the best and most professional we've ever had.

People call him for writing admiringly about FC United but while there's plenty you can criticise about them, the people behind them (and MUST) are very passionate and have made a stand against the rapacious Glazers. I've met Andy Walsh, Duncan Drasdo and others and I admire them as well. Does that make me less of a Blue? I certainly admire them more than the City fans who were prepared to stuff their principles up their arses when they partied with the appalling Shinawatra in Albert Square.

City were indeed in a very dark place during the Shinawatra tenure. The admirable Wardle unable to resist the advances of a despot. And yes the 'party' in Albert Square was vile indeed. That said, it did pave the way for the good Sheik. Out of the dark comes the light.
